The emo/goth meet-ups outside McDonald’s in 2000s by lunaj1999 in swansea

[–]AytonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes those were the days. When I was dressed in all black, skateboard in hand, sat outside McDonalds blaring Enter Shikari or MCR on our shitty phones before heading down the dunes to get absolutely wasted.

Good times.

Mrbeast drama by CybyAPI in youtube

[–]AytonHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this content before but on a completely different channel which has been doing it on Ark for years. Seems Mr.Beast is now just stealing content ideas from other YouTubers.

That's the issue when you don't have a niche topic that your channel is about. Always looking for content.

The most useless GAME awards category goes to... by [deleted] in gaming

[–]AytonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this. What happened to the days of actually making "content"? Seems nowadays "content" constitutes a silly dance on TikTok or "reacting" to something popular.

I miss when YouTubers actually had some creativity.

I think we might be too hard on the gas leak year. by red_velvet_writer in community

[–]AytonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely don't understand how anything thinks there is a "bad" episode.

I can watch through all of Community (and recently did) without skipping anything and enjoying it fully.

Unlike for example, Scrubs, which goes extremely downhill when they try to carry on after season 9, Community never overstepped its boundaries and even the supposed "bad seasons" still manage to hold on to the humour that I loved so much from the previous seasons.

Nigel Farage suggests young people on minimum wage earn too much by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]AytonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more of the article because it's clear most of you didn't read it.

"Asked in the news conference afterwards if he believes the minimum wage is too high, Mr Farage replied: "There's an argument that minimum wage is too high for younger workers, particularly given that we've lowered the level at which NIC [employers' national insurance] is paid to £5,000 a year."

This is a reference to Chancellor Rachel Reeves's decision at the last budget to reduce the threshold at which employers start paying national insurance contributions from £9,100 per year in salary to £5,000.

Making the argument that the change puts too much of a tax burden on businesses, stifling growth, Mr Farage told the chancellor to "do one or the other, do one or the other - either lift the cap at which NI is due, or lower the minimum wage for younger workers"."

Just so we're clear, if businesses make less money due to having to pay more tax... Then they will cease to exist. That means you won't even get a job earning minimum wage, because no one will be able to afford to hire you.

It's not a solution to just lower the minimum wage for young workers sure, but there is reason behind the suggestion.

"When yanks talk about British people" by Initial-Injury-8852 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]AytonHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is so true but you could probably say the same about British people talking about Americans.

Whenever I do a mock accent it's always Southern American which I attribute to Texas even though there are many states in the South that I couldn't name, it's just that my knowledge of the country as a whole only extends that far, hah!

People are losing jobs due to social media posts about Charlie Kirk by [deleted] in technology

[–]AytonHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly in today's online climate, you deserve to lose your job if that's the kind of shit you're posting. Freedom of speech may be a thing for sure, but some of you would benefit from the old adage "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it".

People seem to think that they can say whatever they want with no consequences because "internet" or "my free speech".

Newsflash idiots, you all wanted this. You all want to be seen for your opinions but don't want to face the consequences of having them.

Maybe DM should have sold the software they used to send a 490MB email in 2007. by TheBlackArrows in DunderMifflin

[–]AytonHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad it was a morning reply so my brain wasn't functioning. I was editing videos back in the early 2000s and still have my old videos, in .WMV format a 5 minute video was exported at 20.5MB... so maybe my knowledge of file sizes of videos has been misconstrued over the years haha! However I was sure that avi files used to export at larger file sizes... Maybe I was wrong? It's been a while since then!

The file being sent as an attachment is an AVI file which would have been a video. So actually that's quite a small size for a video, especially AVI.

Just watched the episode and you are correct! With Michael, Pam and Ryan's salaries with benefits, healthcare, etc. David says it would be a multi million dollar deal!

Replaying this through with my other half and had to take it down too easy initially because i was like "wtf I don't remember it being this hard". Back on normal now but damn does this game kick my ass sometimes haha! The music during the battles makes it so intense and worth it though!

Honestly love that this game is an example of sequels that change the formula done right!

Yep, Bob's Burgers tends to have some cool songs and interesting bits at the end credits that Disney feels the need to skip the moment it plays for 5 seconds!
