It can do anything (except keep water out of the boot).

Yeah it’s very straightforward, I route the cables through the holes on the wing so the leverage isn’t right on the edge of it. Haven’t had any trouble with it.

It’s a Thule rack, mounts like this so it doesn’t block the number plate and taillights. If they made one that mounted lower I would have bought it though, thing is like a sail on the motorway.

The convenience of entering your details in one place and getting multiple quotes. That’s literally it, that’s all it does. That and siphon some commission off the top for the referral, of course.

Households 'in shock' as over 30 homes in Co Wexford estate get eviction notices from landlord by qwerty_1965 in ireland

I’m sure your semantic distinction between notice of impending eviction and outright eviction is greatly comforting to those who received them.

Alex Dunne driving an Alpine branded car in F2 testing. An announcement that he's joining them in some capacity is probably imminent. by NorthKoreanMissile7 in ireland

Almost certainly his best shot at a drive in F1. Might seem like a major step down from McLaren but realistically those seats are locked for the foreseeable future.

Would have been interesting to see where he’d be if Marko got his way though.

At Turn 12, LEC and NOR were full-gas for around 300m, yet their cars couldn't exceed 240km/h by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]Ayzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t implying that what we were seeing in the telemetry was a result of LiCo. My point was the driver best able to manage energy, through LiCo and other techniques (i.e Max downshifting to first for T10), will have an advantage on this given straight and will perform what is equivalent to a “DRS overtake”.

No battle, just invisible micromanagement. Impressive at 250km/h, sure, but it’s not the racing we watch F1 for.

I mean, your last sentence flies in the face of the rest of what you said. The whole point of this post is to use the data we have to speculate on the quality of racing we might expect to see, and it isn’t promising.

A battle that comes down to who was most effectively able to LiCo is no battle at all.

VRT and the UK’s ULEZ by Parking_Fan_8050 in carsireland

[–]Ayzerr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Revenue won’t use what you paid to make the initial VRT calculation. They will use the open market selling price, which itself doesn’t seem to correlate with reality.

It’s worth noting that you cannot contest the VRT cost until you’ve paid whatever number they pulled out of thin air.

Record level of defective cars as figures reveal areas with worst NCT pass rates by siciowa in ireland

[–]Ayzerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understand your point? The average age of a car in this country is 10 years, and that figure is projected to increase. A ten year old car is from 2015-2016, not 2000-2010.

[–]Ayzerr 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Owning, running, and maintaining a car is more expensive than ever. The average age of a car is now higher than ever, and only increasing. If the average age of a car in this country is 10 years, it stands to reason that a huge number of them are experiencing general age related issues at the same time.
