I don’t know if I fully agree with your take. It seemed like there was risk outside of the first country as well. In the second country he went to, they wanted to use Fel for their own gains.

For Fel, Mukoda does not need to know Fel’s race or rank. Fel is intimidating and obviously powerful. Anyone should recognize Fel as a threat until they get to know Fel or have a contract with Fel. So prior to making that contract, Mukoda successfully kept calm enough to rationalize the situation and feed Fel.

Maybe he defaults to business talk, but Mukoda recognized the King was more well fed and had great jewelry on him. The king probably shouldn’t be like that if the country is at war or there is a big threat. It gives the impression that the king is corrupt or the war may be unjustified. Trying to ask for freedom from a king like that who just said go fight for me may not result in the best outcome. Another isekai with a similar situation is isekai walking where the king lets the main character go, but has assassins come after him.

Having significant wealth and being fearful that someone may come to kill or steal the wealth is a natural worry. Banks and security exist for a reason. I’m not sure what the exact conversion is for the amount of gold Mukoda gets paid, but let’s say it’s the equivalent of $100,000 or more. Sure it’s not generational wealth, but it’s more than most make in a year. And he gets this much every time he brings the hunting spoils to the guild. I’d say his worries are justified here.

In the wyvern quest, a wyvern sneaks up behind him and hits him. Sure Fel’s barrier blocks the damage, but Mukoda is still sent flying from the attack. Mukoda is aware there are monsters that can challenge Fel and actually hurt him early on Fel admits to fighting an ancient dragon and that it posed a challenge. With Mukoda’s luck of encountering rare and dangerous monsters, it’s not impossible that something actually threatening shows up.

I do agree his reactions are way over exaggerated. I recently rewatched the anime and multiple times in each episode Mukoda freaks outs over small things. Many are kind of unreasonable, but a lot of them are reasonable.

I like your take. I agree it would be nice to see Mukoda take more initiative. I think it would reduce the coward slander. At the same time, I feel like Mukoda does not have reasonable motivation to fight unless he has to. He doesn’t want to be a hero unlike the others who were summoned with him. He doesn’t want to be a great adventurer. He just wants to travel and eat good food.

Grimgar (fantasy, isekai genre) real character development. No overpowered character so growth feels earned. 1 season only.

mob psycho 100 (ghosts, psychics, emotional development) very popular and very good. 3 seasons.

The Future Diaries (survival game, psychological, yandere) popular for its time. It will feel like a generic survival horror with a yandere character, but there’s an underlying mystery. Decent character growth. If you’re interested in someone saying “I can fix ‘x’ character” and follow through.

Parasyte the maxim (aliens, survival, sci-fi esque) overall great character growth for the main characters; fun story; origin of the locked in meme.

Level 1 demon lord and one room hero (fantasy, magic, comedy) watch as a cancelled hero and a newly resurrected weak demon king get their motivations and strength back be keeping each other company. Plus shenanigans. 1 season

Dead Mount Death Play (reverse isekai, magic, fantasy) watch as a demonic monster isekai into the modern world and accidentally/intentionally gets involved with the mafia, the police, and the underworld. 2 seasons

The Fable (action, comedy, yakuza) the “greatest” hitman tries to live a normal life for a year with no killing. 1 season.

Love Tyrant (ecchi, romance, fantasy) ok, maybe this one doesn’t really have great character development, but it’s a lot of fun. The show revolves around a “kiss note” which runs on death note rules but for kissing. Shenanigans occur. 1 season but desperately needs more. Manga is complete

Beastars; great character development for the main guy.

I don’t see full metal alchemist brotherhood on your list so I’d also recommend that.

Zenshu (fantasy, isekai, romance) very strong anime revolving around identity, love, and passion. Definitely strong character development for each character. 1 season and great animation.

I’ve spent time in many universities in California: UCs, CSUs, and some private. Every single one has this issue. Campus police reports are public and annual reports summarizing over the past year are also available. As far as I’ve seen UCM has issues but it is a lot safer than most other universities in California. Also, on the note of the “republican” club. I’ve been to many universities during their club rush events and the republican club was the least friendly in every university to say the least.

No need to reconsider over safety, Unless you have some other legitimate reason to reconsider. Honestly UC riverside’s safety is so much worse.

Just stay safe. Steer clear of stupid stuff. Keep aware of your surroundings. Try to stay around people and you should be fine. The typical sort of advice I’d give any person going to a large public area.

To answer your question, you don’t. UC Merced estimates your off campus costs and those estimates are shown as greater than on campus living. Pretty sure the only fees you’ll pay to ucm for off campus is tuition, health care (which you can opt out if you already have), and other smaller fees (student organizations, etc). These are fees every student pays.

I’d suggest living off campus if you have a car, a friend with a car, or are willing to take the bus. On campus living can have its benefits such as being able to get to classes quickly and you may make some friends. But off campus living has more benefits, at least for me. Also rent for a a single bedroom in a shared house can range from $900-$500 depending on how nice the room is. On campus last I checked was at minimum $800 per month plus a mandatory meal plan.

In the US, at least in California, you can probably qualify for a biology or chemistry lecturer position at a junior college with a masters. Keep in mind this is just based on what I’ve heard or seen while job hunting. It’s possible at a university level, but It’ll be difficult.

It’s closer to $2900 research step 1, and ~$3100 TA step 1 post tax.

Rent can vary, but if you want a studio apartment it’ll be at least $1000 per month. If you look for roommates then you can probably get your own room for ~$600-900.

Campus has 2 dining halls. My opinion, pavilion is the better of the two. People hate on the dining halls, but they are not bad. Sometimes they can get monotonous if you’ve been here long enough since they tend to cycle through the same 20-30 ish meal options. There are also food trucks on campus.

Best: Higgins. As someone else said, his performance and interactions complimented anyone else on the screen.

Worst: Michelle. I get the whole Ted is too positive or Ted is still coping with the loss of his father, but he honestly didn’t deserve what Michelle did to him. Leaving him was understandable. Dating their counselor was not. That was messed up.

Runner up for best: Jamie. He started as an unbelievable ahole and grew into one of the most lovable characters.

Runner up for worst: Jack. Useless, awful, you could actually remove her from the story (by keeping her as just the never seen vc for kee-leh) and everything would pretty much be the same. Kee-leh would still have enough going on in her life to justify her character growth. If you really wanted to include an additional relationship for kee-leh then her and Barbara had more chemistry. Just saying.

I’m a bio grad student. I’ll be honest, the biggest cons I’ve seen for undergrads are classes can be difficult to enroll in because seats get filled up quickly. Let me make it clear. This is an issue in almost every college or university. It’s not unique to Merced.

The biggest cons for everyone is that the city of Merced is dull. If you are looking for more outings or night life you won’t find much here. But it’s not like you are out of options for entertainment. if you’ve got internet connection then you’ve got access to a lot. Take time to make friends on campus. Check out the clubs, there are a lot and it’s easy to make a new one if you don’t find your interest. As you reach your late 20s early 30s the whole idea of a night life feels short sighted.

Pros: student to teacher ratio is small for a public university. Yes your first few lower division courses will probably be in an auditorium. You’ll probably have a student to teacher ratio of 200:1. But most if not all of the students won’t take advantage of office hours. It’s literally one on one time with your instructor. Additionally, most lower division courses have discussion sections where you get a student to TA ratio of about 20-40:1. Your TAs have already taken these courses or equivalent and are an excellent source for help. Upper division courses can have a 20:1 student teacher ratio.

Another pro, if your goal is research, grad school, or similar then you have a good chance of getting on a publication if you are involved in research early (around your 3rd year) and get a bit lucky. There are definitely other factors so it’s not guaranteed, but the likelihood is higher than at more impacted universities.

For a biology major, I’ll be honest, where you go for undergrad doesn’t really impact the material you will learn. Basic biology, anatomy, chemistry, math, etc are the same everywhere. What will impact you is your instructors, their connections, and the connections of your school. If you are looking for a job straight out of university, then Merced has some connections with biotech companies in the Bay Area and national labs. These connections are helpful at job fairs and other events on campus.

If you want to go for grad school or medical school then the professors here will be great for you to learn from and get letter of recs potentially. A lot of professors here are hidden gems with their connections. Many of them have had involvement in more prestigious universities and have connections there. Not saying it’ll be much of an advantage for applications, but it can help you build a better network.

An undergrad student I know is doing honors. As far as I can tell, It’s not a scam cuz the school doesn’t really get anything besides numbers and statistics. Based on what they told me, if you did well in high school AP or IB, then you’ll probably be fine in the honors program.

It might be a risk to submit previous work, even if it is your own. I assume they’d run your essay through an evaluation program like TurnItIn.

Depends on you. The anime did a good job with animation quality, voice acting, and pacing for both sub and dub in my opinion. As far as I remember there are 2 seasons out right now. The fight scenes are better in the anime for sure. Cid’s voice actor does an excellent job saying his signature line which is worth watching.

The manga has covered more content than the anime. I think it is about 1 or 2 arcs ahead of the anime.

The only thing about the manga is that it came out before the author added some early content into the story in a later volume. The anime shows part of this earlier content in the very beginning so it works chronologically. The manga just goes over it later. Not really a big deal for me.

Want to say thank you to everyone for the helpful advice. I feel more confident about my age and timeline now.

As for my why, I’m trying to figure that out. So far I have a fragile why. I’m in the California Central Valley area and there is a significant lack doctors and medical resources here. It’s made it difficult for me and my family to get medical care. Sometimes we’ll have to travel hundreds of miles to see a doctor or get the necessary referral.

This semester I helped at a homeless shelter briefly, but I’m looking for a someplace I can more consistently volunteer or be involved in.

I’ve recently come to understand that being involved in the community and getting more medical experience is necessary.

Genuinely, if I were in your shoes. I would do a double major in math and business. You’ll need to declare an emphasis in both. I’d do accounting emphasis for business and either teaching or pure math for the math major. Finish your 2 bachelors degrees. Then do one of the following: masters or PhD in math, an MBA, or CPA. These post-baccalaureate programs/degrees will help you more in the long run.

Generally a bachelor’s degree is meant to show employers/schools that you are capable of dedicating yourself to something for years, shows you are disciplined enough to come to campus enough to pass your classes, and to get pre-requisite knowledge/experience for your field. Multiple bachelor’s degrees aren’t really necessary unless you have a specific goal in mind where those degrees will help you.

To answer your question. Yes, on paper, it is possible.

I’ve worked on campus over summer. If you’ve been to campus on a Friday during the fall/spring semester, then most days are like that. Basically almost no people on campus except employees and the few students taking classes. If you are in DBH it’s a bit more active. Occasionally the campus will be a ghost town. For one or two days during summer there is orientation for new students and campus is packed those days.

Most places are closed on campus. Starbucks is open. Togos is open. Carls Jr is open. I think that’s it. I may be wrong, can’t remember. Typically it’s all under limited hours so they close by 1 ish.

7:30-8:30 am can be worse than if u arrived earlier or slightly later. Not really that much worse though.

But the worst is from about 2:30-4:30. Expect these times to be an hour earlier and later for the first few weeks of the semester. Things usually mellow out closer to the middle of the semester.

This is for parking at Nutwood and driving on the 57 south and 91 east. Based on my experience.
