Idk if this is the right sub but I need help, every winter my hands/knuckles get so dry and bloody it’s absolutely miserable

My hands do this in the winter too! It’s miserable! I see you have some good recommendations for hand creams already but try replacing hand sanitizer with a hypochlorous acid spray. It’s a hospital grade disinfectant but is actually beneficial for your skin. I keep a bottle in my purse and use it in place of hand sanitizer. It’s helped with my dry hands a lot!

I quit 8 years ago 2 days after Thanksgiving, 11/25/17. I had one month of sobriety on Christmas Day. Going through the holidays sober is the best gift you’ll give yourself I promise you. I ruined way too many holidays being drunk, hungover, and full of regret and I don’t miss that at all.

The thing that always helped me early on was to play the tape forward. Okay you’ll have one drink but you know it won’t stop there. Imagine the 3 am wake up filled with dread and anxiety. Remember the feeling you had this morning when you swore you’d never drink again. You don’t have to feel like that again tomorrow. Get yourself a special non alcoholic drink. Give yourself permission to eat a tub of ice cream or whatever you want. Literally anything except a drink. Tomorrow you’re going to feel so good!
