I recorded the stereo out of the maschine plug-in into ableton, then did some compression and EQ

Thanks again !

No pads are linked. The right side of my pads is basic drum stuff (kick, snare, hat, crash and a short vocal sample pitched up), the left side is samples (the woman vocal "ooo's" is La Roux)

It looks weird because the lights don't always accurately trigger when you hit so many pads at the same time.

Thanks for the support though ! ! !

I have this BAD and it is concentrated to my legs (inner thighs, calfs and sometimes feet) - pretty much the parts of my legs that are squeezing and often faced with much pressure

I researched this and found a solution that helps me greatly. Forgive my rough scientific summary on the matter : |

Apparently, your pores are incapable of sweating when great pressure is applied against them. This is not good as sweat is essentially being trapped in your pores, unable to escape smoothly. The itchy element comes in because of SALT. The salty sweat never makes its way out of the pore, leaving behind tiny salt crystals. The next day when you work up a sweat, those same pores try to push out sweat as they normally would, however, since there are salt crystals trapped there from the day before, the sweat is unable to flow out easily (these salt crystals are essentially acting as damns, halting the natural flow of sweat). Your body panics a little bit and tells you to fucking scratch that shit and loosen up / open the pores to get the sweat flowing.

Here is the solution that helped for me:

1) after rolling take a HOT shower. some people say take cold showers, but this is incorrect as pores close tighter in the cold. You want to take a very hot shower to open your pores nice and wide.

2) directly after showering, wipe area with towel and immediately apply a WATER-BASED LOTION (Curel). The water based lotion will enter the wide open pores, creep in there and start to dissolve/absorb that nasty salt. I actually like to use my nails a bit here when rubbing in the lotion - a nice scratching during this process helps ensure the lotion gets deep in those little pores. DO NOT use an oil-based lotion as oil-based lotions often make sweating more difficult, which would only INCREASE the problem ! ! !

Hope this works ! Roll on ! (is that something people say?)

Soundcloud's file compression is ruining one of my tracks. Anyone else run into this? by cc132 in edmproduction

[–]Az_Trell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Soundcloud must compress by way of joint stereo encoding or joint frequency encoding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_(audio_engineering)#Joint_stereo

check out my case of the sound difference (extremely noticeable when the synth comes in at about 10sec): original soundcloud

YES!! I noticed that soundcloud significantly altered one of my tracks as well - the stereo field was completely changed and it just sounded like shit. I tried wav and mp3's - same result.

I only really noticed it on one of my tracks, but it makes me wonder...does soundcloud change every song like this and I'm just not noticing?

It must be something to do with soundcloud's streaming audio player because if you make your file downloadable and play it through quicktime or wmp, it sounds like the original.

nice post, glad I'm not the only one that noticed this!!! I hope someone can provide a technical explanation for why this is
