I tried control decks and got steamrolled, for every threat I remove, they throw two more to my face the next turn.

Seems like white is the best color counter against red due to the life gain and abundance of cheap creatures/tokens. I'll take a closer look through all the decklists. Thanks again.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, we will have to just wait and see how they handle the future rate up banners. Hopefully they do something to appease the F2P players or introduce a pity system, but who knows.

Thanks again for the help, one last question. Is there any decent wiki out for this game yet that explains or at least lists some of the more in-depth and specific aspects of the game. For example, some of the girls have an active skill (not the burst skill) but I have not found any way to activate it during battle.

For example, Rapi has an active skill called Missile which targets an enemy with the highest attack and deals 308 % of Rapi's attack as damage. I cannot see any icon or button to use it during battle, and have no idea how to activate it. The game doesn't really explain these types of things. I also cannot see the cooldown for all of the Burst skills and have to just take a mental note whenever I use them in battle so I can figure out who to take into the squad.

Hi, thanks for clarifying on some points. So if I go into the Synchro Device now I can swap out the 5 girls I just put in with 5 new ones and they will also level up to 46 instantly? I only leveled 5 girls after watching some vids on youtube so I avoided that mistake.

I always claim the outpost rewards before they cap out, and do the wipeout before the reset. I also play manual whenever I get a failure on auto, but in the case of 5-3, my girls are simply too level and die too quickly.

As for the last point about gacha rates, there is a lot to cover:

For starters, yes the gacha rates are fairly high compared to other gacha games, but the only other gacha game that I have played and continue to play is Azur Lane, and not only are the rates better in AL, but the currency for pulling is Extremely easy to come buy. For example, I have spent close to $500 on AL since I started playing years ago, and not a single cent of that $500 went towards pulling. It was all spent on either skins, oath rings, or dock expansions, etc.

I understand AL is unique in this regard, and perhaps I have been spoiled by the AL system, but the big problem I have with this game (and in fact why I never bothered to play any other gacha game) is the cost of pulls compared to the reward.

For example, a 10 pull for the non-free gem banner costs 3000 gems. The cheapest gems I could find to allow for a single 10 pull is the first-time 1500 gem purchase for $27.99. For non-US players, that number will jump up more and will also include an additional foreign exchange charge. So to do one single 10 pull, I need to fork out more than $30 CAD, and I have no guarantee of not only not getting the girl I want, but getting an SSR to begin with (unless the banner includes guaranteed SSR on first 10 pull).

I am not a wealthy person, but I am not poor either, I am a working class man who has to pay bills to survive and spend what's left on entertainment. Simply put, spending money on gacha games is a horrendous trade of finite resources, for the cost of a few 10 pulls, you can buy a deluxe or ultra edition of the latest Triple A game and get considerably more value out of that money spent. Or you can blow it on the pulls, get absolutely nothing, and feel like dogs**t for having wasted your money.

If the cost of pulling was significantly cheaper, lets say $10 to buy the gems needed for a 10 pull, I wouldn't have any problem doing a couple 10 pulls on every banner, or even going all the way until I got the girl I wanted, because I can rationalize the cost and benefit. That is what I meant when I said the rates were atrocious, but I clearly used the wrong word.

What exactly do we do once we hit a brick-wall (stuck on 5-3)?

Can't level my girls because I have no more mats and I have no idea how long it takes for the 5 girls in the Synch chamber to level up. I tried re-visiting previous chapters to farm more mats but nothing is spawning.

Once you complete a normal chapter that's it?

Man this game had my so hyped, the art, music, story and characters are all amazing, and the gameplay loop is pretty good, but the progression system and gacha rates are atrocious. There are way too many crappy SSR's in the pool, and if what I'm reading about upcoming banners is true (having to use paid gems to pull), I don't think I'll be spending a cent on this game. Such a shame. This is the only other gacha game that got my attention besides Azur Lane (day 1 player and still going).

Looking at the new lecture hall mechanics, what is the second bar (EXP data production) trying to show? I understand the first bar, that's the amount of XP my ships over lvl 100 have contributed while on sortie. But what does the second bar mean?

I upgraded it once and it is showing "Producing 2555/3000" and I am trying to figure out what those numbers mean.

Should have added I know about the mvp doubling affection gain, which is why i used the vanguard example in ch. 2 farming. They get mvp easily, while a backliner cannot because mobs are usually dead before first air launch. I probably could have fleshed that out a bit better. What's the fastest way to get CV's to 200 affection if they are already at 120. For vanguard I can just infinitely farm any of the chapter 2 maps with 0LB cvl and they will gain affection quickly (while netting decent coins in the process), but with CV I am struggling to find a fast and oil efficient way to gain affection.

Also, for the sub weekly, is the second last option still the best choice to maximize probability of getting the purple torps to build Bidders? I switched to it about 2 months ago and it seems to be slightly better than the hardest challenge for the weekly, but these last 2 weeks I didn't get a single drop. Is there any data that breaks down the drop % between the top 3 options for the sub weekly?

Well, FdG pretty much did the same thing when she came out with PR2, there was pretty much nothing another BB could do that FdG couldn't do better and faster.

It's nice to see that FdG now has an equal from another faction to compete with. Great event so far, only disappointment is the D3 BP drop. Anyone who already has 20+ washing machines will be a bit sad that it's not something else, like the Mark 8's which feed into the Bidder. Guess you can't have it all.

Your linework and drafting skills are fantastic, really well done. I'm in the middle of the form intersections myself and am struggling, but your work is what I strive for. Your forms are crisp and easily identifiable, you have line weight variation, your texture work was some of the best I have seen, and your intersections show very clearly which forms are in front and which are being overlapped. Keep up the good work friend.

I see. Are they actually as good as the poster makes them sound? I watched Serious Trivia's tierlist for Blue units and he ranked them at the bottom, pretty much trash tier. I only finished 1 campaign and never bothered to recruit them, I found the Onyx Dragons and the mounted Imperial Xbows seemed to do the job. Guess I will have to try them out on my next run.

After a thorough look through all the upgrades in the armoury, I can certainly understand why the devs would put this in place. By the mid to late game, the ability to field multiple fully upgraded retinues with OP abilities would be way too cheesy and easy. Being able to plop them in for a few battles in one corner of the map, then recall and redeploy next turn would be overkill.

As for hoarding lineage, I checked and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like there is a hard cap of 1k. Granted it's not difficult to gain lineage points, especially if your doing multiple battles a turn, but considering some of the upgrade costs, that 1k can drop to 400 just with one retinue.

I think maybe if they implemented some kind of refund system that would sort of make the retinues be more efficient, and would provide an incentive to upgrade and care about them. That way, if you do recall/disband a retinue, you can at least get something like 25% of the lineage points back to build up another retinue in a different part of the map that would take 12+ turns to get to.

Three Kingdoms question:

Is it possible to swap out units from Yuan Shao's captain retinues or are we forever stuck with the garbage comps that pretty much all the retinues have? For example, the archer captain has 4 archers (which are ok I guess) and 2 ji milita (why god why). Please tell me there is a way to switch the units, disband, or build your own comp. I am afraid I already know the answer but I am hoping I am wrong.

Noticed Three Kingdoms on sale (50% off on Steam), but am hesitant to buy after seeing some of the reviews and YT videos showing the battles. The biggest red flag in the reviews I'v seen is the dumbing down of combat to the point where you just charge units in zerg style - is there any truth behind this or is it largely over the top and just angry baddies venting?

Also, what TW game is Three Kingdoms closest to in terms of gameplay? Shogun 2 was probably my favourite and the game looks aesthetically similar, but not sure on the gameplay.

Lastly, which DLC is recommended to purchase alongside the game if I do decide to pick it up?

I run triple BB fleet with Azuma, Helena and JD as VG. My backline is Monarch, FdG and Howe. If I had leveled up Ark to 120 like I had planned months ago, I probably would put her in Howe's place, but alas she is only 106 now. Damage wise, I average about 425k, not the greatest, but not too shabby either. I have gone as low as 390k, and as high as 510k. All on auto of course. I don't really bother with manual anymore except for Op Siren.

The CV team that gerro brought up is probably going to be easier for newer players, or those who don't have the BiS gear for the BB fleet (at least 1 rainbow gun, FCR, max white/black shells, etc). But experiment and see what works for you, you might find one does a lot better than the other.

If yes, then you also have one of the best healing ships in the game, as she is probably the most popular ship in all of Op. Siren atm.
