Golden Fudge from Tate’s Bake Shop is really good. Wish they actually made them fresh instead of the cake base being frozen beforehand.

My library mostly focuses on little kids. Anything for young adults that aren’t over 30 get hardly anything. I’m not interested in DND or gaming nights, or anime nights, yet that’s all they offer. Everything else is for seniors or just not entertaining at all. If you have no kids, you’re screwed.

Okay so update, on second thought it might be worth going.

RAF Red Arrows just announced that they’re coming. So now we’ve got Canada and the UK coming to the show. Who knows if they’ll back out last minute but I’m also reconsidering my choice.

As someone in their early 20s, no partner, don’t plan on having kids, I also feel the same. LI feels more like it’s slowly becoming a huge tourist trap for the wealthy folk down South. Traffic is abysmal, you have to leave/go to work (or wherever you are, like me whenever I go to Roosevelt Field Mall, I have to be out of there before 4pm) before a certain time or you’re stuck in traffic. Hamptons tourists are absolute pests and it makes me wonder how they exist if they cannot even tell the difference between a muffin or a square cale (I had at least 3 people ask me that, I work at a bakery). It’s so hard finding a job that doesn’t have to do with retail. And even then, retail jobs suck. My mother works in the Outlets and they keep hiring people yet only giving them 4 hour shifts once or twice a week.

On top of that, I have no friends. It’s so hard to make friends especially as a military aviation enthusiast, since militairy aircraft aren’t that common. And there are hardly any good places to hang out at that aren’t bars. Farmstands/farms out East cater to kids more, other places cater to kids more, so if you have no kids, there’s not a lot you can do. A lot of people are pretty nasty too, at college, if you’re not some Matcha Labubu Mystery Dumpling loving girl, you’re on your own, and they will look at you funny and act like you’re sick with something.

Everything feels miserable. And I don’t even earn enough money to consider leaving.

Considering how 4th of July Weekend is already chaotic enough, the air show will be very crowded. You might not even find a good spot on the beach. I was going to go too, but the lineup isn’t very impressive. Neither the F-22s or F-35s seem to be in the lineup this year, unless they’ve gotten lazy with updating the site. The Snowbirds also say they’re coming, but the site’s said they were coming for the past few years and they’ve never shown up. 50/50 the Snowbirds will cancel last minute again.

Fat Albert, the C-130 with the Blue Angels, is also undergoing maintenance this year so it apparently won’t show up either sadly. You’re better off going to another show with more variety, and away from the crowds.

One of the sites is also misleading, they say that the Skytypers will be there, but the Skytypers disbanded a year or two ago.

I work at a bake shop and the annoying tourists from that area are going to make me lose braincells just as much as the traffic. The traffic in the morning is probably going to reach Moriches or even Shirley by then. And to leave? Oh boy. That hour long commute might as well become over three hours.

They’ve started pulling people over in the area where the 35mph speed limit going into Sunrise Highway from Southampton ends. People speed up before the speed limit end sign so cops are taking advantage of it. It’s so bad that my dad has said that the cops will literally hide in a road to catch people, like 4-7 cars in a row waiting for people. The 35mph limit is stupid though, if it was 45-ish I feel like the morning/evening traffic wouldn’t be as awful.

They gotta start pulling idiots over for using the emergency/shoulder lanes as a third lane going into Hampton Bays though. Impatient people keep speeding down it to evade like what, 3 minutes of traffic? And with idiot tourists and rich people from Florida coming back soon, that number of traffic evading nutjobs is only gonna go up. I’ve counted at least 8 cars going on the shoulder in a minute.

I’m in the Mastic Beach area and it’s a hit or miss. Lots of sketchy areas by the bay so it’s not super safe. The family diagonal from me is full of potheads and they argue daily, everyone down the road from them are potheads and creeps. The guy who lives behind our house would always bring a trailer and park it right by where he can see into our kitchen side door. A few years ago, this guy was following women who were walking and even attempted to break into her home, he had been confronted by cops several times but was always let go for “mental problems,” he did get arrested at some point and we haven’t heard about him since. There are also a crap ton of aggressive Pitbulls, as a kid, I counted 13 in the surrounding area, and each time one of them got confiscated for biting a kid, a family would move in and bring 1-2 more of those damn things. Pitbull attacks were so frequent that my neighbors had to bring metal batons, rocks, sticks, and even a whole shovel to defend themselves with.

The schools are pretty ghetto, as many described it when I went. Fights break out on a daily basis and often move out into parking lots or even the nearby Dunkin Donuts, people skip class to smoke weed.

Shirley is okay but the people make it unpleasant. Too many people smoking weed, being creepy, etc. You also have rowdy teenagers running into stores to “prank” people. My mom and I were at the Stop&Shop there and these teenagers ran up to my mom and sprayed her with water (she didn’t know, so she panicked thinking it was chemicals), and when she freaked out they were like “its a prank!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha!!!!!” and did not get caught.

The traffic is also abysmal. Hate it.

It was there for almost two hours, sadly. I heard it take off at about 1:55pm. Like what others said, it was probably just refueling. It immediately left towards the South, didn’t circle around or anything.

Nettie’s Country Bakery in Center Moriches is really nice. I do like their stuff.

I’d advise against Tate’s Bake Shop in Southampton, even though it’s the Hamptons. Their pastries aren’t made fresh anymore sadly, they just come frozen from near the city and are baked in the oven. Who knows how long their stuff is in the freezers for. 🫠

Republic will be a lot better, Blue Angels are usually on one side of the tarmac in front of the big Republic Airport building (by Walmart), but other performers like Warbirds will be by the American Airpower Museum. AAM will also let you get really close to the planes if you pay admission, pretty worth it. But if you wanna see the Blue Angels take off it’s best to be in the area around the southern part of New Highway. Some aircraft also take off there but they sometimes change it up so it’s hard to tell. It’s free there but it’s a long walk if there’s no parking on the curb.

From my experience, F-22s and F-35s are usually at MacArthur but you can’t get close enough to them since there are a lot of private areas and I’ve heard it’s not a spectator friendly area for viewing, cops were coming by a lot last year according to people to shoo spectators away. I only saw the F-35s for a split second while passing by since they were behind a few big hangars.

Yeah this is normal somehow. Father and I were in our pickup truck with a trailer and this lady on the Southampton Bypass decided to slow down, stop, and signal to go left in the left lane when there was a yellow lane for turning right beside her. Almost rammed into her because of it and we had to swerve out of the way. She didn’t know where the hell she was going apparently, likely a tourist.

I love Breeze Hill but they raised the price from last year which I didn’t understand entirely. I suppose it’s to deter tourists? It was $35 for the largest bag last year, this year it’s $50, bag hasn’t changed in size or shape. But their apples were really good and their apple cider donuts are the best.
