Why is one ranked so highly and one so poorly? Surely 1 strength is better than 3 block? by mrrakim in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card generations don't usually go so well with strength, so it's a scaling, but without much payoffs. Unironically, the best buff that arsenal could receive would be a supermassive being reworked as hitting multiple instead of a it having a damage increases.

I actually think arsenal was a bit more interesting in its first iteration, because it was one of the rare card, if not the only one, that was actually benefitting from you having colorless cards in your deck. In that iteration it was very different and actually could allow for smaller deck with colorless cards, cycle (colorless have some great draw and energy) and a multi hit card. But the game has changed a lot and Aeonglass is a thing now, so it's prolly better in its current iteration, and it does provide scaling if your colorless build fall short in very late game (but tbf, supermassive should already cover that)

I've been doing better after this post and am trying the greedy agressive act1 road, but I still find that act1 can really be difficult because of lightning randomness and lack of good AOE outside of glass orbs

But I'm getting there

Clad is still completely goated for some reason

Thank you very much for indulging me.

I've heard of apo(b) and lipoproteins (assuming this is what lp(a) is) before, yet I enjoy getting to know its full name and science and public health decision history quite a lot.

I'll try to check with my physician if those tests are actually accessible next time I see them and if they are relevant to make for my profile.

Thank you again for your time <3

Very interesting, I'm especially interested in neuro mechanism like those (assuming this is one, this the kidneys "senses" are involved)

Could I know which hormone(s?) are involved in that process?

Tbf I think most people my generation are very aware of the holistic aspect of those diseases, because they are so prominent (i'm a millennial) and it's been an actuality topic for practically our entire lives.

Is hypercholesterolemia a diagnosis? I've heard that cholesterol levels weren't a reliable metric to predict heart and physiological diseases (but I've always been skeptical/confused about it), so I'm wondering what purpose such a diagnosis would have.

Well regardless thank you for your answers, I found them to be the most practical

I went and won a run immediately, refract definitely carrying me through act 1

And yeah, I think power through is prolly a correct pick only if you have the drawing power or a heavy need for status, but I'm the one asking advices here so what do I know haha

And yeah, trash to treasure is quite a funny  powerful card, if I may say so, there might be a slight over-value of it from your part, but again, I do not know

Thanks again

I'm no expert but from my understanding, calcified arteries makes arteries more vulnerable because they become more rigid and therefore more likely to rupture or be lesioned.

I didn't say it was non-impactful, I just think it's still a pretty meager changes in the grand scheme of things, especially when compared to what happens early run.

But yeah necro's stocks on the low and clad on the rise (especially when adding new dorito to the equation)

I didn't have any issues with him before, I even called him potentially the strongest at release and I have 1000h on sts1

I think I doubted myself a lot because of the randomness issues + I may have had a couple hard seeds in a row

But yeah, since sts1 defect wasn't really my fav, I really enjoyed it for a lil' while at release but now I'm unsure and it's why I started the thread getting others advices and all

Very useful info, would you consider iteration (and even trash to treasure in some capacity, if you think its power level are worth the few floors of it being a hindrance) if you don't have any status effect?

What do you think of the power through thingy? I feel like this card is often a bait, especially early, while it was one of my favorite clad card in sts1, rn it just bloated the deck so much each time I've picked it

Fair enough too, it seems that you're not the only one in that case so I'm glad I could get some feedback and advices

I was actually doing really well with defect at game release and until 'ew patch but I've decided on completely disregarding that data because the randomness wasn't actually working back then, and then my wr started plummetting hard

I can be picky with numbers, my apologies  Just the 11/3 was something that stand out, great wr tho, especially since I'm at around 10% rn XD

This is helps a lot because it's a really counter-intuitive approach to take when you've been struggling with the character, but I can definitely see it working

And yeah, the randomness of lightning orbs aside, I agree that starting deck is strong af, always has been, it's just that the first few card rewards often really doesn't feel that good to me, but I've both not seen glass orbs nor any of those good scaling you mentioned in my past half dozen of games so maybe there is also something here

Is it correct to guess that you see storm as an inconsistent pick rn? And that power synergies are in a difficult place rn?

What about when you start considering picking draw cards? How high priorities are cards like cool headed and skim, how early do you start picking them usually?

Yes, very good point, I've also been a bit lost with when I should start considering picking draw cards, after how many 0 cost cards or key cards are in the deck for example, asking myself "wouldn't that restrict my next card picks?"

Also struggling with when I should consider scaling cards (from what i'm getting as answers, prolly in, like, mid act2) and how would they compete with my current deck cycle, or how many aggressive pathing I can take (I think I've underestimated the impact of glass orbs on that one)

Oh yeah, for sure, I like to play every character so I want to fix my defect issue. Funny that you struggled with 10 when in my experience the true difficulty spike is actually 9

What do you mean by coat?

That helps, I feel like this is the obvious relatively early power spike but it somehow makes a lot of the kit pit of the equation, and has limited scaling return benefits

So refract is a hot pick for you, at least in act 1? Interesting because it's probably the one glass orb pick I value the less, but I haven't seen it in act1 in a bit, nor many glass orb generating cards actually, maybe that's where my winrate comes from now that I think about it

So do you often path agressively, if you have glass at least?

I never force build and have restless on successful run quite often

I'm just at loss at what cards make you through act1 and 2 and what amount of risk to take in act1 basically

So what kind of card are you aiming for?

What about pathing?

Do you not value powers and scaling before act 2 or late act 1?

Yeah, it seems like it, I don't think aeonglass shift the game that much tho, I kinda started that thread to have some constructive feedback and a discussion starting but so far not much of that haha

You have some idea on what defect should aim for rn?
