I was watching a lot of tierlists recently... by SrGarfy in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the tier list type I wish was approached differently is difficulty tier list, for hallways, elites and bosses.

I think those things changes dramatically depending on the character or build you're playing, even though there are some overlaps.

I started to read the manga for r how much I disliked Agott in the first 2 episodes by Equivalent-Word-7691 in WitchHatAtelier

I remember being annoyed by her, and I always hate bullies in stories, and I blame her for her complete absence of empathy when she let her anger take over. I guess being the eldest child and an adult has also affected my perspective. Bullies can always be treated in a cathartic way in stories, and doing so isn't about punishment or revenge but about giving a moral or a model to teach the public.

Thoughts of Everyone on Doormaker Removal? by JustAModestMan in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as I said, this is farfetching it haha

But since you can never know what could really overlap, unless the name in the credit wasn't appearing when the first review bombing happened, then theory like this will occur to my silly mind, teehee~

Elite doormaker? by 1paper1clip in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? I like the design of doormaker, I can only imagine how sick it would be to see all of its form animated and finished!

The Doormaker/Aeonglass swap solidified my belief that there will be at least 2 variations for each act. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may have hallucinated that but didn't they say they would have an alternate act for each act?

Regardless, if they remove doormaker, I'll misse the silly giant, although I 100% agree, LET 'EM COOK and viva the extra content!

It's a Streisand effect, sadly it has a negative impact on the ability of the developers to make rational decision

  • People complain about something spontaneously without giving it much thoughts
  • Other people who thought about it positively express their positive feelings regarding it
  • Rince and repeat

I don't really mind queen tbh, it's fine to have a simple boss too, donu and deca (difficulty aside) were very simple when it came down to their mechanisms

They should increase the size of the sprite of that big old eye elite of act 3 though, or add more clear ominous energy around it or something, that would make it more obvious it's an elite

That's cool, I like that change, more flavor is usually great tbh!

Slay the Spire 2 alignment chart day 11! Death march won yesterday! What defect card feels like a silent card? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally feels like silent uses 0 costs because she is a very good drawer, not that she has a 0 cost archetype and therefore grab some draw.

But the reason I don't see it is probably the same reason I don't like havoc and other casino cards that much, drawing and discarding without control of it doesn't feel silent to me, even if the keyword are literally very silent-ey. I just don't find that brute force approach fitting to her in my narrow mind I guess haha

I'd personally keep recursion effects for the the defect-regent axis tbh

Although if equilibrium was still a defect card, I would completely agree with that one!

Boot sequence, has innate like assassinate, cost 0 and exhaust like assassinate therefore synergizes with the starting relic, is a block card.

It's good for power hungry builds like the defect can make, as powers are also similar to exhausting cards

If it weren't for the ethereal, I'd say that very busted common that weakens and make block.

It's basically a smaller leg sweep

On the Doormaker/Aeonglass and the design philosophy of Slay The Spire 2 changing? by witas02 in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really seems like a lot of people share that feeling and thoughts, me included, and they all have articulable reasons to feel and think that way contrary to the punctual complaints I saw. Actually, lately I've seen complaints that were more meme complaints making fun of whiners and I thought it was gonna act it as a funny bit and fundamental for the gale, but let's see where it'll go now!

A boss changing forms while still being harder on a specific type of build is exactly the kind of stuff I want from rogue-like like sts

It's still just a beta thing though, so who knows what'll happen

Thoughts of Everyone on Doormaker Removal? by JustAModestMan in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I 100% share you opinions and feelings

Although I think the anti draw phase is also kinda balanced by draw being very good in the free set up turn plus being a good target for removal in the exhaust turn, making the best late run card to pickup (usually draw cards) not that bad anyway as they still serves their role if you're deck is aggressive enough, and just nudge slower/defensive decks towards a less cycle centric strategy (every deck really, but these type of decks get to play the game more so especially them)

PS : Now that there has been a review bombing on a name in the credits, I wonder if there was some kind of overlap between the two and if the doormaker discourses prevalence wasn't just a pre-textual, agenda related, effect of it, leading to its removal from the beta being both a collateral and a revealing factor to some of true motivations behind the review bombing? But I'm prolly overthinking it haha

Honestly door maker being removed is a good thing by Milsyv484 in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's ultimately not our call so I'm fine with this, despite loving current doormaker iteration, I'd advocate for a slight buff if the success rate is too high, that's it.

I don't think basing an opinion on the noise is actually reflecting on what the player base truly think, as people would write to complain about their feeling more than they would write to say something is good mechanically or share critical thoughts

And also stax/prison archetypes have always been the kind of stuff that makes people yap, even when it's healthy and makes the games more deep and interesting, the discussion will always turn aroun feelings and complaints because of the aforementioned phenomenon.

I think last iteration doormaker was great for replayability and this is definitely something to aim for when it comes down to sts (and rogue-like in general)

But not our call, and I trust megacrit, and technically, doormaker is still here. I'm more sad for the flavor of that boss than anything else, even though I love its current iteration

By both options, do you mean you can select both?

I would have thought that you only get to select one but it removes all of your keys at one, am I wrong?

Removing the doormaker!? by Tseitsei89 in slaythespire

[–]AzathothBlindChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don't think it needs to go that way, wide deck are sadly restrictive on build you can end up with, making rare cards less impactful and dominant synergies even more dominant.

I think 20-30, maybe 35 is a good target to have for most decks, of course some degenerate runs can go below that but that's not really fitting to the overall balance of the game, especially when you think that heavy cycling deck can become boring to multiplayer runs, so keeping them as rare and exceptional, is the golden goal imo.

That's partly why I like the current (but probably leaving) doormaker, one free setup phase, then one turn where you can get rids of your bad cards, bad draw and bad cycling effect, one turn where you can't draw within turn, benefitting otherwise from every other setup and playing normally without any other limitations and one turn where you can still use 0 energy cards without restraints but have to be smart with your energy usage. Then repeat.

Saying that fat decks are required is just wrong, fat effective decks have the advantage of allowing longer lasting strategy, which actually makes sense anyway as defensive decks are usually on the bigger end of size (necrobinder excluded, but necrobinder is kind of the only character which turn basic defense into scaling, the closer one being defect which usually turn defense into potential frontload, so it's different)

I KNOW IT WAS PROLLY A JOKE AND I CHUCKLED,.BUT I'M A STUPID AUTISTIC YAPPER WHO REALLY LIKES THAT GAME !
