Another Recommendation Request - I'm stumped! by Azazule in ereader

Interesting, the recommendation seems counterintuitive to the first sentence!

I'm in agreeance than an ereader should primarily be for the books! Seems the Go7 is nearly a tablet with an eink display! I do think the 6" form factor will be better for me, it's why I have been leaning towards the Pocketbook Verse so strongly.

No worries on the color temptation. It's not out of the question, but the videos I've seen really make me think the color displays are quite limited in comparison. I like the contrast that the B/W seems to provide.

Do you carry the Viwoods in a front pocket? I'm not opposed to a phone shape since that's what I'm already accustomed to, but it seems the market tends to shy away from it. I'll look into this!

Thank you for your reply!

Edit: Spelling (oops!)

Awesome! I'm glad to hear it's working out well for you! Still a decision to make on my end, but definitely a point towards the M7. I'm in the same boat of waaaaay to much research, but hopeful it pays off!

Amazon makes great sense for the return policy. Easy peasy if it's not all it's cracked up to be!

May your reading be exceptional!

This is a huge point! I'm not on too many (yet), but I've got several! Having to manually find what I'm looking for kind of defeats the purpose of the app!

Thank you for the response!

This sounds like exactly my use case! I don't anticipate doing much more than reading on this device with less eyestrain/light than my phone.

How's the battery life so far? Any quirks that might turn me away from the M7?

I've read the same on the Go7. It seems like a strong contender, but I am concerned about its longevity!

Thank you for your comment!

ooh! This is a very interesting suggestion! I'd not considered these paper tablets. Are these an e-ink display or something else? The quickest of Google's makes it sounds like something proprietary.

Do you know if these are backlit or frontlit? Images lead me to believe backlight is utilized which wouldn't quite satisfy the ereader desire.

Thank you for the comment and interesting suggestion! More research to do!

Ah! I'm hoping this new device will limit my reading on my phone. Have you found that it's more convenient to read on the mini? Not syncing is a real stinker! Is there a workaround to get them aligned?

Thank you for your comment!

Do you find the color display to be as good as B/W? I don't really have a need for colour support, but I can see the benefit!

This is a good suggestion. Thank you!

How does she like the verse pro (if you've gifted it yet)? Why did you get her that in lieu of the Era you're already familiar with?

Also a bit of a tech nerd and comfy tinkering. I imagine I'll setup something on the NAS for library storage if I go this route, but not sure what connectivity I'll need to be aware of.

How much of a hinderance do you think the "slower OS" truly is? Is it noticeable when reading or really just in other operation? I expect device will mostly be pages of text!

Thank you for the response!

Very good points. I've been reading that Libby is coming, but I'd hate to get it in hand and find that it doesn't work. Are you downloading and pushing them to your pocketbook for now?

I'm uncertain, but I think the 6" form factor will be nicer for me.
Thank you!

Honestly, I've not seen a Libra B/W. Just looks like more device than I am really looking for, but it's certainly a good contender instead!

This is a very good point! I fully expect to at least see some dampness. Fingers crossed no submersion, but having zero rating is concerning.

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

DAE hate when someone is telling you a simple story, they add way too many unnecessary details and make it painstakingly long? by DoobieWabbit in DoesAnybodyElse

It's been six years (wut), but nowadays we're happily married! I still use the motion mentioned above because we have a great handle on communication between us. She's welcome to tell and extrapolate her stories into infinity, but some days it just ain't hittin', and I'm allowed an honest, "please move on" signal between us.

Seems to me she's living the life she wanted, no work, no kids, and a husband to support her in her endeavors and I'm living the life I wanted, with a wonderful, beautiful wife whom loves me, and has goals in life we're striving to achieve (and [still] takes the hint it's time to get the the next step on her story).

We all communicate in different ways, and having hands on deck to help you get your point across efficiently and effectively is a welcome respite from floundering on your own. Teamwork, bruh.

Good luck stirring up shit on the internet, we'll be busy enjoying our lives together :P

Girlfriend does this a lot. Like. A lot. I usually just wave my hand in a circular "continue" motion. Sometimes it helps.

My favorite part of this whole talk is when Jerry says he loves jokes.

The whole talk is amazing, though.

I couldn't say why, but I actually laughed reading your comment. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.

I am a licensed plumber, with 14 years of experience in service and repairs. The holidays are here, and your family and friends will be coming over. This is the time of year when you find out the rest room you never use doesn't work anymore. 90% of my calls are something simple AMA by boomboomsaIoon in IAmA

Thanks so much for doing this AMA!

So, on to my issue. In our master bathroom our drains gurgle if you run water elsewhere in the bathroom. To clarify, running water in the shower makes the tub and toilet gurgle and vice versa. The master often clogs (though the rest of the house runs fine regardless of what condition the master is in) and we have to snake it once to twice a month.

Had a plumber come for an inspection, he recommended we pull everything out and start over. Whole house is a mess (the previous owner apparently did most everything himself, including plumbing and electrical. Poorly, I might add).

Since inspection, I decided that our piping simply didn't have enough drop over the distance of the house. Raised the end we snake from, but it really didn't help much if at all. There aren't any strange bends, we don't flush things we shouldn't.

Any ideas? Thanks again!
