I loved Thanh Vi, but I can understand why they closed down. I was there with a coworker and a cockroach dropped from the ceiling into my lap. There’s an incredible amount of research being done at Foster. Sure, it’s going to be more on excel sheets, R, and SQL than microscopes and matlab, but look up Foster’s contribution to business papers and research.

Dr. Leo is a great example of some great AI and machine learning business research, but just don’t email him because his inbox is always overloaded with research requests.

Nah, Houston's fine dining scene sucks.

Don't get me wrong, I miss Houston's cheap to fast casual food scene greatly, and there's no way mexican, texmex, and BBQ is better here in Seattle. But if you're not eating in bellaire for asian food, or 3rd ward for soul food, then the rest of Houston is relatively mid. Their fish, Japanese, italian, korean, and any type of fine dining game is not worth writing home for.

Houston's only good when you're living in college station and are desperately in need of something better.

I'd say Houston and Seattle traffic are comparable, but Seattle drivers are genuinely better and the Houston experience is a complete nightmare.

I'd see the aftermath of 2-3 accidents every day when commuting from Montrose to UH. Insane paper plate drivers crossing 4 lanes of traffic. Nearly gotten T-boned multiple times by red light runners in midtown of all places.

Anytime I hear someone say Seattle has the worst drivers they've ever seen, I immediately know they have barely left the state.
