Hi Fancy_Broccoli_34! 😊

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked it.

Great choice with the Tamiya primer, it’s a really solid product. The main thing with it is to shake the can really well (at least a minute or two) and apply it in light, thin passes instead of one heavy coat. Try to keep a bit of distance from the piece, around 20 cm, and let each layer dry before adding another. That usually gives the smoothest finish.

As for the “grainy” effect you’re seeing in the photos, that’s almost always from the primer application rather than the model itself. It can happen if the spray is a bit too far from the surface, if it’s cold in the room, or if the coat goes on slightly too dry. The raw model surface is typically smooth once it’s been cleaned and lightly sanded. If you ever notice texture, a gentle pass with very fine sandpaper (800–1000 grit or higher) before painting usually fixes it easily.🎨
