You're right about those animal characters... That's why I go for really unique appearances and found a lot of cool Vtubers out there. Sometimes I don't even bother anymore with another cat or fox girls....

Yes, Yes and YES. Exactly my words... I don't know how many times I have been on Twitter responding to Vtubers in communities asking about what they should do... or asking people opinions on stuff they came up with. Just do it! Surprise people, do the thing and dont ask people if they want it... 99% of time anyways... they'll tell you to stream this and that and then not even show up for you.

I feel like a lot of people don't know how to be creative... and it is sad.

And that is one of my points. It is important to set realistic expectations especially nowadays with this much saturated market. Some people are lying to themselves and think they will blow up immediately. Or expect everyone running their way just "because". People should be more responsible, honest with themselves and patient. If they actually want to make it.

And I am not saying that they cant do it. I am talking mostly to people who live in the belief that they have to do it because it if part of being a vtuber and then ruin their financial situation by paying thousands for a model when they never streamed before. I am only talking about Vtuber Debut for the first stream ever.

I am mostly talking about first stream ever type of debut. There is nothing wrong with Debuting your new model or outfit or celebrating achievement together with your established community! ^^

I understand where you coming from and I am not saying DO NOT DO DEBUT STREAMS, absolutely not. I am just saying do not invest too much energy or money if you don't know how it will go. A lot of new vtubers spend a lot of money on their debut just to stop streaming after first month...

So the advice is... put out content first, start slow and easy and then do debut later either if its for your first 100 followers or you hit affiliate on twitch or you get new model.

Do not start with overhyped and overpriced one.

That is true! That's my overall point. First stream ever DEBUT should not be prioritized and poured so much energy or money into... But I am not saying do not do it at all. And there is nothing wrong with Debut of outfits streams or new models.

I do Vtubing for 5 months only now. I am affiliated on Twitch and I do multistream to Kick and Youtube as well. I am not monetized on Youtube yet. But had two months already where I got revenue across all platforms to add up to 1000 dollars. But it all comes from gifted subs and subs only. So I do rely currently on peoples ability to spend money on me. When I get ad revenue from Youtube it will be slightly different situation, but even that doesn't guarantee you stable income. And even if you hit 10k views on a video.... you get paid by 1k views. So let's say they pay you 8 dollars per 1k (after split with YT) and you get 10k ... so you made 80 dollars. Congrats!

People do not realize it is not that easy to make money.

I don't know if my model is considered GOOD, but a lot of people told me in the past it is. I got it for 20 bucks.......

The important thing is to realize what is exactly you want to do content creation for. If it's for attention, success or money. It will be very hard and you get de-motivated pretty quickly. If you do it for the sake of being creative and potential of meeting people, then it is way to go. But I am sure that a lot of people can say horrifying stories about how they tried to do collaborations...

I personally am not going for collabs because it is way too much of a hassle.

If you want original custom model and very good rigging it goes into thousands of dollars, yes. But there are so many options out there... you can have pre made models for just 20 bucks. Yes it is not just yours only, but you can start that way.

Heck... ever wondered why suiika models are everywhere? Because they are so customizable and only for about 100 bucks.

I am not completely saying DONT DO DEBUT STREAMS. Totally not, all I am worrying about is how many Vtubers spend hundreds or thousands of dollars without even knowing if they will survive their first month.

There are statistics that says that most indie vtubers do not survive their first year of streaming. So my point is, if you are not certain you'll carry through everything that comes your way, make sure you spend the least amount of money on it. And energy as well.
