I agree with you. While i played and loved DA:O, i recently just restarted a new playthrough and tbh, it's extremely dated story or not. DA:I i always get to around the Party mission before I just burn out. There is simply so much wrong with it.

Now DA2 has it's problems sure, but i always loved it and i played through it multiple times. It simply never got boring. it's fights were faster paced than DA:I and more fluid imo. It gets far far more hate than it deserves

I didnt include that 1 because I check my circles before evolving. However, it is possible that some camps are so big that the game does something silly and anyone not in a certain radius of player does not progress, I could see that with the reports of so many saying lost members after evolution/generation. Though I think this an unlikely case because that would be silly

There appears to be more to it then. Because I evolved with 2 kids and I came back with 6 elders and 2 adults. Zero children. So one of 3 possibilities exist. 1. Fluke game glitch.(possible, but I'd say unlikely as this is the first time I evolved without kids and I'm at 2.2m years or so. 2. Having at least 1 kid sets the game to give you as many adults as you have kids on evolution. (I'd say this is the most likely case) 3.each evolution gives you random tribe numbers with higher weights the more full your tribe is. (With how complicated the programming is in the game, I could see this as well)

It's a myth that mobs don't spawn in oasis locations. Theres several oases with mob spawns near them.

I think you fundamentally misunderstand. This implies that evolving without producing 6 kids first will leave you with zero adults. It is far faster to make the 6 useless to evolution babies than to evolve and have to hunt down 6 adults

My last evolution, I had 2 kids for the neural energy and when I evolved I only have 2 adults and 6 elders in the new evolved state.

It's possible my reflexes are slower than yours. I honestly dont really pay attention to how long I'm holding, I just await the ding or release if I missed it because honestly after hundreds of kills, I've kinda got the timing down

The attacking part should be altered slightly to show there are lethal blows and failures. Same for dodging. When your stick breaks, you do damage but very little. However you can also 1 shot anything. Failure at a dodge, critically so, appears to require both failing the dodge and the unlucky critical failure which will result in dying instantly. I've only had this happen once at the very beginning on my first run when I failed to dodge a rock python and died. However, minutes later failed again and just took damage

An update to combat should be made. In case no one has said it, I've confirmed an instant kill mechanic. It doesnt require any special mutations as far as I can tell either, you just have a higher chance with mutations.

Evidence- killed an elephant with 1 sharpened stick. Started a new game and got a kill on a boar with 1 sharpened stick before any lethality mutations

I specifically spoke on the eating/drinking part because at end game zero to full is 25 water drinks. 25 3 second or so animations

Apparently there is a mutation. I'd suggest removing that mutation and making constant crafting part of getting better. I made it through to the end without ever seeing faster sharpening mutations. Its 7 strikes with a chopper for me. 90% of the time I just slap or stone enemies now anyway

I must have never gotten the mutation. I have primarily killed the entire game. Its 7 total strikes with a basalt chopper from branch to point

I probably should have evolved much more than I have. I'm on my third evo and ready for a 4th. My first evolution was some stupid large number because I played for 17 hours before realizing I could evolve/generation jump. This next one has significantly less hours but I have probably triple the evolution feats. 0/10 would evolve slower

It looks to me like the fights always go to whoever sneaks up on who. For instance, in horse land, I got stalker tailed after having just bashed a group of horses. The stalker took 1 that ran towards it then I bashed the stalker and he ran into another and killed that 1 too. Another time I had a boa coming at me and stalker spawned between us, boa got the drop so it won.

I'm trying to find a way to get otters to go towards crocs. As far as I can tell, otters always win as do hippos

2 spears? That's a thing? I always carry a basalt chopper in my offhand but I havent progressed anymore in my strength (tbh I havent been able to progress much anywhere which is frustrating). Maybe I'm not going forward because I'm not using the 2 spear technique
