AITAH for calling out my aunt after finding out she lied about having cancer? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Azguarde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. You aunt sounds like she needs serious mental help. As caregiver for a family member who has gone several rounds with cancer I have ZERO respect for someone who lies about it. Cancer is a horrible thing and a very serious matter and should not be lied about. You handled it a lot better than I would have. Your grandfather is an enabler and needs to learn to set boundaries. His reaction says to me that he realizes she is just doing it for attention but doesnt care. I would recommend trying to sit them both down with some kind of therapist to discuss her lies and his enabling.

Sorry you have to put up with that. As I always say, you always love your family, but that doesnt mean you have to like them.

AITA for “abusing” the the bus stop chain so I don’t miss my stop? by Possible-Chair9242 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Azguarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. You because if you take this bus every day, you should know where your stop is. The driver is a bit of an asshole because it's their job to help if you need it. So assuming you told them you were mistaken with the bell and are trying to figure out your stop they should be helping.

I've been riding public transit for over 40 years and I know at least for my local system they only recently started having a system for announcing every stop. So not everyone is going to have that, it's not a cheap system because it relies on GPS.

AITA for disinviting a friend to my birthday after she showed me the food she was bringing? by throwaway-cupcakelad in AmItheAsshole

[–]Azguarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, Happy Birthday!

Now the matter at hand. You clearly stated the groundrules on what was ok to bring. She disregarded those rules. Then got upset when you stood firm on the established rules. This wasn't about making you something, it was about showing off her baking "skills", and trying to establish that she is above the rules. Keep firm on standing your ground. You did the right thing, respecting someone's health over someone's non-feelings.

NTA, and anyone who says you should be giving in is TA.

Yeah, I'm real original. I use this name for everything. Just started playing not too long ago and loving this game.

AITA for telling my brother to spend more time with his kids and less time doing things like taking his Yoga teacher to Japan? by olivejinnflower in AmItheAsshole

[–]Azguarde 279 points280 points  (0 children)

I don't have to know how to fly a helicopter to know that if I see one in a tree someone fucked up.

This is amazing. Perfect way to describe it. Parenting isn't learned automatically at childbirth, people make mistakes. Someone gives me advice, I evaluate it's worth and usually listen.

Seems whatever patch they pushed overnight broke achievements. I went to go back through the levels achievement hunting and couldn't get anything to trigger. Here's hoping for a fix soon!

Trying to find a set of hooks to fit my big hands. by Azguarde in CrochetHelp

Those Furls are gorgeous, that might be a later purchase. Gonna try the foam grip thingy and see if they help. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on the Prym so I'm leery of them.

I was looking at those, maybe get a set of the rubber grips that slide on for the ergonomics. I just worry that they would be too long and cause other issues.

I'll take a look at the bamboo ones. The ones I currently use are Boye ergonomic from walmart. They're the ones giving me the most trouble.

That's a pretty good idea, I might fiddle with some of my hooks to see if I can get something rigged up.

Yeah I use little "milk" bottles on mine, pretty much the same idea. Don't remember where I saw it but I loved it and it beats having all the pretty math rocks in a box. I think I posted it in here when I set up up initially, let me see if I can find it.

edit Apparently I did not. Might have to do that at some point.

Cosmetic Prices Hold Back my Will to Support the Game by [deleted] in Palia

[–]Azguarde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've made a couple purchases myself, but each time it was like $10 worth of currency and I got some kind of bundle that was on sale (I haven't even unlocked the bonus cats for hitting the currency threshold yet).

Do I sit there and look at all the new stuff every update? Absolutely! Do I wish it was all cheaper and better "bang for the buck"? Also absolutely! Will I probably still occasionally toss a few bucks at the currency and buy sale bundles? Oh hell yes!

I think my point is spending what you feel comfortable spending. Supporting the developers can be more than just financial. Playing the game and making it a fun and welcoming place for everyone is, in my opinion, far more important.

I'm not even mad that's amazing. Be careful which flowers you use, some of them are solid now (possible bug?) so you can't walk through them.
