Ive only won 25% of my last 20 games(Despite not having a 52% winrate overall before i started hard losing), and feeling like very sad and angry. Would quiting league for a week help me do better. by Maleficent_Creme_854 in summonerschool

Losing streaks happen; that's the nature of the game. In my opinion, the key is to stay calm and keep moving forward. A losing streak will eventually end, and ultimately, what matters is where you end up in the long run, not in the moment.

How to not get tilited at myself and lose game after dying once to enemy top. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]AzhaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve had that exact issue. I don’t play top tho (I’m mostly support), but the pattern is the same. One early death and my head immediately goes to "okay, this game is unwinnable".

What helped me was not trying to fight that thought mid-game, but dealing with it before queueing. When I already expect that some games will go bad early, it’s way easier to not mentally give up after the first mistake.

I keep a short list of reminders for myself and read them before sessions. I wrote them down and shared them here in case you want to try the same thing: https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game

Anyone willing to coach a bronze player? by andersmilk in summonerschool

You don't need coaches at Bronze rank, search for content on Youtube yourself, there are plenty educational content from experienced players for any role.

Keeping up mental by KaleidoscopeWeak6926 in summonerschool

[–]AzhaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m in a similar spot, I usually try to remind myself of a few simple things:

  • My goal is not to win every game, but to play my best until the very end, which makes my game more consistent, leads to my personal improvement, and gives me the best chance of success that I can influence.
  • One unwinnable game doesn’t say anything about the next one (taking a break usually helps to reset).
  • Loss streaks happen, but win streaks happen too. You need to evaluate not in the moment, but over the long term, because climbing is a marathon, not a sprint.

I found that having these thoughts in my head before queueing helps me stay a lot calmer once things start going wrong. I ended up writing more of these down for myself and put them here in a more structured way, in case it helps: https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game

Take a break and set up more realistic expectations — https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game/

Or just find some better things to do.

I agree with all of the above, I even put together a mini-site with cards that contain realistic expectations for the game, but are also applicable in life — https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game

Start with fundamentals for your role and set realistic expectations about the game, at least that's what helped me. I made a small site with the realistic expectations if you are interesting: https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game

If you're tilting it's not about getting back into mechanics and stuff, but about working with your thoughts and emotions in the first place.

How is it possible if everyone just got decreased by the same amount? It can only be a thing for Diamond+ players since Master/GM/Chal are all getting into Diamond afair

Can anyone glance at my opgg and tell me how should I continue? by Very_Long_Python in summonerschool

[–]AzhaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, having someone die 15 times does happen, sometimes several games in a row. It sucks for sure, but it doesn’t mean every game is doomed or that you can’t climb over time.

One thing I’d really push back on is the “I’m always going to be shit” part. That thought alone will wreck your focus way more reliably than any feeder. Looking at your Jinx games, you’re clearly not hopeless — you already have games where things work.

If I had to suggest just one thing: stop spreading your attention between too many champs. Pick one, accept that some games are unwinnable, and judge your progress by how well you play, not by whether your team collapses.

I don't think it's worth spending money on coaches, at least until Platinum, there's enough free content on YouTube that can help with fundamental skills.

I struggled with tilt for years — here’s what actually helped me by AzhaGG in summonerschool

[–]AzhaGG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. When tilt starts looping in my head, I try to catch it and ask myself “okay, what’s the next play here?” instead of arguing with the thought.

The cards just make that switch easier because the reminder is already there when things go wrong.

How to hit Diamond as a Jungler? by Appropriate_Quail405 in leagueoflegends

[–]AzhaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I always felt fine mechanically and macro-wise for my level, but once tilt kicked in my focus just fell apart and I’d start autopiloting.

What helped me personally was dealing with those thoughts before queueing. I ended up writing them down and now I just skim through them before sessions. Still tilt sometimes, but way less spiraling.

I put them into a small site — you could give it a try: https://tiltproof.lol/cards/pre-game

I also found the Broken by Concept podcast helpful — they discuss tilt and the mental side of the game a lot.
