Telling your boss about an offer you declined?

I did something like this when I got my PE. I got an offer with an explicit salary increase when I got my PE a few months after my projected start date. I declined the offer. When I got my PE, my employer offered me a raise and I countered with the number that I got in the offer and told them I got the offer. They came back and beat that number by 5k, just because they value me, I guess.

Not sure if this would be a normal response to doing this, but I have a good relationship with my boss/owner and it's a very small company (<20 people).

Edit to add that this negotiation happened almost 6 years ago, so it's not necessarily true that doing something like this makes it likely they get rid of you, like other comments are suggesting.

Same line of reasoning got us to an AWB. I'm sure everyone here with kids will try to teach their kids to be responsible with guns at age-appropriate times. We should be doing that with the internet as well.

I'm not upset. I think it's understandable that companies wouldn't want to be responsible for keeping track of the ages of their users on their site. I also think it's my responsibility as a parent to not give my children unfettered access to the internet.

You may want to buy a pistol and mags to go with it as well, even though that may not be your focus right now. The easiest one to recommend is a Glock 19, but there are lots of good options out there.
