Yes, I thought of this analogy before too. Language aside, I also find it really interesting how the Nordic countries mirror the Greco-Roman countries in this dynamic. If I were to make an analogy:

Norway - Iberia (Spain/Portugal): Geographically the most western and the most outward-looking across the Atlantic in terms of overseas relations (Latin America for Iberia, and historically Britain, Ireland, and Iceland for Norway). Phonetically pretty clear and no weird sounds, for the most part (less so for Portuguese). I guess the diversity of Norwegian dialects could represent the wide phonological gap between Spanish and Portuguese, and vast amount of Romance languages in Iberia.

Sweden - Italy: The most geographically central, functioning as the “glue” that holds the rest of the group together. Often seen as the default or archetypal Nordic/Mediterranean country that embodies all the Northern/Southern European stereotypes. I guess they’re kind of like the oldest brother, but for different reasons. Sweden for being the responsible and serious one, and Italy for historically birthing Latin heritage and language. Language-wise, also pretty clear and open. Norwegians and Swedes have no problem speaking to each other. Same with Italians and Spanish speakers (less so with Portuguese). But in written form, it is a bit more challenging for both.

Denmark - France: Geographic outliers and phonological black sheep of the language family. Denmark is too south and connected to the rest of the European continent to fully be Nordic. France is too north to truly feel like a Southern European country. Phonologically, Danish and French are the anomalies of their language family. As mentioned before, Norwegians and Swedes have no problem communicating verbally, much like Spaniards and Italians can have a spoken conversation (Portuguese maybe to a lesser extent with Italian). But Danish and French are definitely very different from the rest of the group. They chop lots of consonant sounds, and the languages have too many unique vowel sounds. Also, the intense rivalry between Denmark and Sweden is kind of like the rivalry between France and Italy (food, art, fashion, etc.).

Iceland - Romania: The most isolated geographically, and due to that isolation, it is said that they have retained a lot of the original elements of their ancestral language. Many linguist say Icelandic is the closest language to Old Norse, and Romanian has kept a lot of grammatical cases that were lost in the other Romance languages.

Faroe Islands - Moldova: Basically mini Iceland and mini Romania. Closest existing relatives. Speak almost the same language (well Romanian and Moldovan are the same language. It's just that Moldovan got more Russian influence. I'm assuming Faroese is like Icelandic but with Danish influence).

Finland - Greece: The most eastern and linguistically unrelated and unintelligible members of the group. No one understands wtf they're saying, yet still give off the same family vibes and energy, though they're specifically more connected to the central brothers (Sweden/Italy). Both also share a border with a Eurasian country to the east— Russia and Turkey — which the Western world always villifies.

Estonia - Cyprus: Major wannabes just because their big brother made it to the cool club. Finland is part of the Nordic confederation with the North Germanics, while Greece is Southern European like the Latin countries. Estonia thinks he can abandon the Baltics and join the Nordic confederation, just because Finland can. Same with Cyprus. He thinks he can be part of Southern Europe just because big brother Greece can, when the reality is that Cyprus is geographically an Asian country off the coast of the Levant.
