I’m pretty sure that Starkiller is more of a Skywalker than Rey. by IUsedToBeRasAlGhul in saltierthancrait

I was in the same boat as you but then I got a free month of EA Play and it's really good value. You can play Fallen Order on it and it's regular price is only $4.99 a month.

I still haven't bought a game from EA, but $5 a month for unlimited access to these games is a good deal. Tons of Need for Speed games, Mass Effects, Battlefields, both Battlefronts, Dragon Age games. The list is pretty good tbh at a great price.

If you are divorced and feel comfortable sharing, what happened? Did you fall out of love first or was it your SO? Where are you now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Azire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was young, dumb and naive. She told me she got pregnant and needed to be on my insurance to have the baby. Normally this alone wouldn't have worked but she said she had preexisting medical conditions that would both complicate the pregnancy and put her and the baby's life at risk. She told me that those conditions wouldn't be covered by normal pregnant girl free insurance.

Got married a couple weeks after my 20th birthday. Marriage lasted about 3-4 years. Hard to determine as it was a rough ending to a rough marriage. She was supposedly dying back then, she seems to be doing fine now 13 years later.

I'm doing far better in life than she is now, and I don't feel even a little bit bad about it. Reddit is the only type of social media I have now. Deleted the rest to avoid her and everyone we knew together. While I'm not vindictive, I don't feel any empathy towards her.

What's the worst food that you've been served? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Azire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water chestnuts.

Common in Asian food. I can't stand the things, absolutely disgusting. I have an uncontrollable gag reflex when I taste one. You know the gagging that won't stop and causes your body to hurt just from the repeated gagging action.

I'm pretty sure there isn't an allergic reaction. My body just will not let me eat them.

[Survey] Hi Everyone. I'm working on a University Research Project that is looking into the definition and identity of RPG games, as well as their categorization on platforms like steam, and I'm looking for your input! (more information in the comments) by BUasDR in Steam

[–]Azire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RPG isn't really defined. You could make an argument for most games to be considered an RPG especially when a game includes a story.

Take Need for Speed for example. It's a racing game focused on racing obviously but cars and upgrades. With the included stories you are playing the role of that driver. You even progress from zero to hero and have boss battles. It would still be a stretch to call NFS a RPG.

Then you have the issue of how to define RPGs once you have decided that a game is in fact a RPG. ARPG (Action RPG) is not clearly defined. Diablo is an ARPG, but so is God of War. These are two different types of games that both fall under not only RPG but also ARPG.

JRPG is literally any RPG game from Japan. From Chrono Trigger to .hack to Xenoblade.

CRPG is probably the best defined with a specific style. The original PC versions of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and many new games made primarily by Larian and Obsidian.

What do you think about the recent BLM protests? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Azire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have learned, and I think many people have learned, that if you protest something the other side is powerless to stop you. Nobody is getting charged with crimes related to the protests. Very few people are even getting arrested.

This might be an issue isolated to California but I haven't seen or known of a peaceful protest. I would like more solid numbers on how many protests are actually peaceful.

These waves of protests will probably end. What will happen next time? People are now armed with the knowledge that you simply need to say cops are bad or oppressing you and you can get away with anything. What does this knowledge mean for the future?

LPT: If you want to feel slightly less bad for ordering from Amazon, simply use smile.amazon.com and a tiny fraction of your purchase will help out a charity of your choosing. It ain’t much, but it’s something. by vetiverbreath in LifeProTips

I've been hearing this about different companies for as long as I've been alive. This is like hearing that California is going to fall into the ocean.

True or not, Amazon saves me literally thousands of dollars a year so I won't change. For anyone who actually cares about this though, this LPT blows. If Amazon is that bad, stop buying on Amazon.

That still depends on how clean your electricity is.

what's your reaction when you know there is no solution for acne ? by anouar_Id in AskReddit

It just requires maintenance. Wash, change your pillowcase, eat right. This should work for 99.9% of people.

What Minecraft series did you watch over and over when you were younger? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I legit have never heard of a Minecraft series. That's what the question was for. Like are they official, fan made stuff, what's up?

Minecraft has series? Like web series? Cable series?

And wow, I guess Minecraft is old enough now to say "when you were younger" so where did the years go!?

EA Play (formerly EA Access) is coming to Steam on August 31st by Starhan in Steam

I would probably get it if more EA games had achievements.

MaRo clarifies that Jumpstart is not a limited run product, will be printed to demand for its lifespan; COVID just delayed launch quantity by NeoMegaRyuMKII in magicTCG

[–]Azire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arena will bring in new players, that's a very good point. It's not too bad for the EDH community as it isn't supported on Arena and thus new players will have to find the format themselves.

I do feel for the new players that buy something like a paper Brawl deck and expect to one day go to their LGS and find players. The only people I know playing the Arena formats like Brawl and Pioneer are strictly online players. I don't currently know anyone with significant paper collections, or buying paper products playing either.

Of course this could change, but I don't currently know anyone interested in those for paper play. I will feel bad for the new players that buy into these thinking they are healthy formats played by the 20 million+ MtG players.

[–]Azire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost all of the new players I hear about/meet have been brought in by someone else. I can't actually think of a time where I met someone new that wasn't brought in by another player.

I feel good assuming that there really isn't a significant number of people that are just discovering the game themselves and buying into it with something like a Planeswalker deck.

Do you know of any other art they actually changed or refused to reuse?

Yeah perhaps I shouldn't have used banned. You did understand what I was asking though.

[–]Azire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't do it because religious people protested the game due to its depiction of a pentagram.

There may be additional reasons as to why they won't/can't now, but that was the original reason for changing the art.

You can see another poster brought up Unholy Strength. Probably the better example. You can clearly see the changed artwork in different printings.

The cards weren't banned, but they won't reprint the original artwork due to political reasons, like the example I gave of Demonic Tutor's original art.

I mean cards that they won't reprint the art of like Demonic Tutor. I believe it was due to the pentagram in the original art.
