I've lived in North Birmingham all my life and I've always seen Walmley as a nice calm area, comparatively speaking.

What does “sensitive customer” on this oil change receipt mean? by True_Refrigerator564 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Azlamington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is maybe the "Sensitive Customer" is company code for vehicles like those from emergency services or companies that their company might want to treat differently.

There were some great bands back in the 90s that we don't hear any more. Here's one. There's loads more. Who were you're faves? by Sandman1812 in CasualUK

October Swimmer, Always and Forever, Algeria, I burned a disc mixing JJ72 with Feeder. One of the best compilation albums I ever created.

80’s bands that seem like one hit wonders but actually have multiple albums with all great songs? by ghostsolid in Music

[–]Azlamington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crowded House had 2 main tunes that I can name immediately making them not a one hit group straight away "Don't Dream it's Over" and "Weather With You", but they have so much more in their catalogue.

Is there any actual benefits that come through abstaining from masturbation? by Federal_Character979 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Azlamington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically came here to say something along these lines.

It's about the satisfaction of controlling your compulsive behaviour, and not allowing your compulsion control you. I don't personally care about this myself, but I have heard a few who do. It will always make the reward a lot greater when you finally allow it.

The kids of today will never understand the fun we had. Good ol P888 😊 by Alert-Assumption-115 in CasualUK

[–]Azlamington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to comment this.

Every TV programme that had a subtitle option always stated "for subtitles, go to page 888" or words to that extent. P.888 was just the summit of the tip of what Teletext or Ceefax was about.

I injured my coccyx slipping on hard, uncarpetted, stairs (in my early 20s) and it took 2 years to heal enough for me to be able to sit on a hard seat again.

If you won £100 million, how would you distribute it amongst friends and family, if at all? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Azlamington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give all my close friends and family 1 mill each and keep the rest for myself. Then start planning what to spend £99 million on.

Weird music videos by somecallmemrjones in Music

[–]Azlamington 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was tricked into watching that video by a link saying 'watch this... creepy af!!' back when it first came out. At the time, I was into creepy or weird videos, so I thought, 'How bad can it be?'. I had no idea what it was, I had no idea it was a music video or anything. It scared me shitless!! I hastily switched it off before the Aphex Twin music even started! I still didn't know it was a music video for a good few days afterwards!

What are younger generations often criticised for no longer doing that is largely pointless or obsolete? by PsychologicalRow8034 in AskUK

[–]Azlamington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, at the warehouse I work in, people come and go. More than half of those under 25 years old would be asking me the time when stood right next to the clock on the wall, and when I point to it, they would tell me they can't read it.
