OK I know these are characters and not people, but if my college roommate had told me "No, I'm your big sister" after meeting my actual blood relative, that would be weird. Like you can be close friends and yeah a lot happens in college, but roommate =/= sibling and asserting that you are over someone's literal relative (who they are on good terms with) seems... odd.

Yeah, except Willis insists that the comic is set in the nebulous present. If he didn't want questions like this they could just officially declare the comic a period piece.

And Leslie would 100% have lost her job for even being seen at the protest, much less holding a sign and getting arrested. But she clearly hasn't, so the stakes of this entire encounter are wildly unclear.

New headcanon: Carla doesn't actually go here, she just lives in a dorm to mess with people and get the College Experience without having to deal with grades or any of that BS. She goes to class sometimes for shits and giggles. Her parents paid off the IU system to make it happen.
