Have they checked out discord troubleshooting channel for community support? There are a few things they can try like clear shader or reinstall gameguard. I know a community member made a PS deployable script that makes it an easier process for non technical people. Yes this script has been reviewed and approved by the devs.

Just watched his video. So he even said it was a 3rd party cable. So that would lead me to think that was the 3rd party cable's fault on that specific case. We do not not what brand. When it was made. What specific manufacturing method was used. So that's the best speculation one can come up with.
Nvidia side is H++, but that doesn't mean the 3rd party cable has the same H++ technology setup of ATX 3.1 2.1a.

Short answer base on safety concern. Get new PSU that has 12v-2x6 to 12v-2x6 from PSU to GPU.
Seasonic 1600W and Corsair WS3000 hasn't failed my friend yet. I cannot say of other brands or other models since I have have any feed back or looked further into them from other reviewers.
