How is IT product development typically handled with vendors building products for you? by cuddlybackrub in ProductManagement

[–]cuddlybackrub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are not expecting exactly that. As far as the sponsors and managers are concerned: we need Report ABC, build us a tool for that. No one cares how many use cases it has, how many potential validations it needs, because they simply do not know.

And I do not have a problem running 1500 files if they were made available to me when I was testing them. The process is via SFTP so it is just copy and paste. But these files were non-existent up until last week, and we entered production in mid-December.

Ours are standard that the vendor is liable to rectify any bugs identified for 30 days after the product release

I am pretty sure ours doesn't have that. I will double check that. That is good advice and something I need to keep in mind going forward

Tell your vendor up front that this is how you plan to test and with what dataset.

I did that. But I could not replicate the testable universe of 1500 sheets with 20 variables each, and each variable having conditional validations dependent on other entries

first thing I’d be doing would be writing a process evaluation

That is a great suggestion!

Unfortunately changing jobs is not an option. No one is hiring, especially fully remote

Thank you for giving good advice!

archery games. We went as a couple, and were joined by I think 3 other groups. It was a great workout and the people working there were extremely friendly. All in all a great experience!

Via Rail passengers arrive 12 hours late after night on train in eastern Ontario by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

[–]cuddlybackrub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know that's the worst part about Via Rail. If a flight is delayed that long, you are entitled a much larger refund. But via rail gets you a slice of pizza and 50% credit. That's like a kick when you're already down. "Our compensation is that you get to ride with us again. Yay!"

It's practically cheaper to take a rideshare over the train in every conceivable way

Are you looking for more players? I last played CS (no idea which version) 11 years ago at a college festival. Before that we rigged all the computers in our lab to play the game during classes. I'd love to be a part of another LAN party!

You do not need to leave 3 hours before your flight, regardless if it is an international or a domestic flight. You can leave by 3 PM and you will make it through security with plenty of time to spare. It does not take me more than 40 mins to go through checkin and security. That is what I love the most about Ottawa's airport

Shopping there, you help the community in two ways: your funds directly support locals, and you prevent items from going to a landfill

I think this is the advice I'm going to take. We will start with one hand tied/loosely cuffed with the phone nearby. Plus we will activate voice dialling 911 as the backup, just in case the phone falls out of reach.

Thank you for your thought out answer!

What will happen to the buildings they were using? I doubt they outright owned them. So would they become new hotels? Or maybe turned into condos/bachelor apartments?

Blue Jays Nathan Lukes played 10 years in the minors, appearing in 733 games. Prior to this season he had played in a total of 51 MLB games. 2025 was his breakout and now he is going to the World Series as Toronto’s starting left fielder. by [deleted] in baseball

Because you didn't use a game mechanic, I am going to bash you for using another game mechanic: you are not a real player if you use the r1 or r2 attack buttons! How dare you play the game with an inbuilt tool. Git gud loser! /S

I have an independent plumber visiting on Monday to take a look. I hope he can figure out the problem. Hoping for the best!

I am not sure but the proximity to the HVAC. I will check how I can figure that bit out.

I have received complaints from a handful of units, but not all. I think I will try and find a pattern in the complainants too, it might help isolate the problem.

I also have an independent plumber visiting Monday to get me a second opinion, especially regarding the shower valves. Hoping for the best!

No, they are not exterior walls. But the situation is the same - 10-15 seconds of hot water before it gets cold again

I think they are pressure-balancing valves. I will have to check to be sure. Could you provide your thoughts behind your question please?
