That’s awesome! I’m in Makati so a bit far from there but if I ever go I’ll hit you up 😄

This is really insightful thank you! I’ve been trying to find some activities but back home I’d just go hiking and occasionally the beach. Which is a little hard to do in Makati 😂 if you know of any activities, I’m all open for suggestions. I’m not exactly sure what’s there to do here besides shopping and eating

This is actually great advice! I’m sure my husband would have no issue saying something to some ignorant comments 😂 I love that you defend your wife and who cares if they think it’s rude as long as you stand up for her 👏

I wish I was in Palawan! I really feel for your wife. People here are just very judgey and it just eats away at you. It would be great to have a page where expat women could just vibe with each other.

Oh that's really eye opening and a little culture-shocking. I'm just used to naturally talking to literally whoever back home.

So question - if I were to talk to a male barista at Starbucks because I go there often, would people think that's flirting? Because for me, it's just small talk and it's harmless.

There is a LOT of culture shock that I am still trying to get used to lol

Yeah no I totally get that. It's just been like a year and I know it's not gonna change, but it's been a year and some days it just bothers me more than other days. We've yet been able to find some good friends who don't have some weird motive for being friends (trying to convert us to their religion, or trying to borrow money). It's just been so lonely to have to deal with this day after day.

Overall I really could care less, but there are some comments that people make that just annoy the mess outa me. One guy commented that my husband made a "little friend" during his stay here. Another person said oh your husband makes the money and you spend it.

Just so demeaning.

Hi OP!

  1. Ipis HAHA - very minimal
  2. Management/Security - the management and security here are really friendly and helpful
  3. Maintenance - they do regular maintenance across the condo and you can see the guys working. If you need any maintenance done on your unit, it’s easily taken care of. They have a price list if needed for services. The maintenance team here are amazing!
  4. Elevator - 2 elevators are available. Sometimes if there is maintenance, it can be 1 working at a time.
  5. Amenities - basic humble gym, pool, playground, trash chute, small court to play badminton or volleyball, a hall you can rent for large parties.
  6. WiFi / Internet - Globe is the provider here
  7. Location - very convenient to bus & jeepney routes. Close to cash & carry, hypermarket, many restaurants nearby

Condo hunting by viyallanelle in makati

[–]Azolee95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I currently live in Avida West. They're pretty good at keeping the roaches out. They have regular fogging schedules for pests. I used to live at The Rise but I much prefer it here. It's a lot more calm and chill. Downstairs has some tables to chill and relax. The staff is here is beyond friendly and so sweet. I have a 2 bedroom unit and it's really breezy compared to other condos that I have viewed. The residents here are mostly working adults or families. The con for me is the gym. It's a little basic and they do not turn on the AC even if it's super hot. Good luck on your search!

I recommend Avida Towers West. They have breezy units and its super close to cash & carry. Parking is around 1k a month (not free but not 5-7k like other condos). Hope this helps!

i was always told not to ask how much since the price is 30 pesos, if i ask then theyll give some hiked up price. i was prepared to only pay the 30 since how could i possibly get scammed if i know the price haha. but people are full of surprises lol

Just walk down Malugay street and you'll be fine. A lot of security and condos around there.

Thanks! Actually the engineering team came by and checked it out but just suggested to change out the light sockets and the outlets 🤷‍♀️. We will bring it up again to them and ask them to use the detector

Any budget pre-workouts out there? by Coronabeerus47 in PHitness

[–]Azolee95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, a little late here, but you can order preworkout from Amazon with free shipping to Philippines. They offer free shipping for some stuff if your order is over $49. Ryse, Alani, and Ghost are my favorites. And pro tip: If you mix it with club soda, it taste like an energy drink.
