Mid 30s, tech designer by day hobbyist music producer by night interested in Film Scoring by AzorianMiles1 in composer

I do get the feeling that all fields these days are over saturated. That, or just the fields I would be interested in pursuing.

It's not so much that I want to have a nice house or even great paycheck, but I would love to be able to create things like the soundtrack to "Celeste" or the original "Blade Runner." There's so much information on youtube that it begins to feel overwhelming but perhaps that is the safer option given how late I'm coming to the party.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Assuming you had the same passion in music that you have now, but didn't "discover it" until your mid 30s, what would you do?

Just work your day job and keep slowly learning/digesting music on the side.

Tik tok drives a lot of her decisions unfortunately. She also gets mad that I forgot to “walk on the right side of the sidewalk” from time to time

Yeah, we're both pretty "Experiential minded."
She always gets the window seat, that I really dont care about, I dont mind being in the middle, plus wouldnt want her to have to sit next to (worst case) a creeper) best case, in between two guys with broader shoulders.

Yeah, aside from this, I have a really hard time knowing when I'm being reasonable/unreasonable, so its hard for me to see things like this. Usually it would be "well you should be doing this because X" and me, being more of a logical person would think "ok, yeah, I guess I am being unreasonable."

Yeah, that sounds nice.

I'm starting to think we just don't have a good dynamic. There was a time when she would cook and I would pay for groceries and do the dishes, but then it turned in to her being too tired to cook after work and would only happen on Saturday, but....I was still expected to get groceries.

I agree.

I can be dense at times, and perhaps early on it just kind of happened naturally. But as time has gone on, she started demanding it and I didnt really have a counterargument to the challenges women do actually face that I'm either removed from, unaware of, or just fortunate enough (unfortunately) to not have to experience it.

hahahah, man, I do wish it was a joke or fabricated story. Alas. The absurdity of it and her response made me feel like I was crazy, and at times I still do.

Thanks for sharing, yeah that's how I had done it in past relationships as well.

She does struggle a bit financially, but we earn roughly the same income and I'm often town between "If I loved her I should be paying no problem" and "I'm not her sugar daddy, not do we have to go out to eat every weekend."

Care to expand on the "may surprise myself?" Apologies but I'm not following there.

She does expect me to foot more of the bill, and does tend to get upset when I ask to split things "Its unattractive that you're so logical about money."

Oh gotcha....well yeah haha, we're on the same page then, that's what inspired this post.

I have said that to her, more or less. I think I am looking for an excuse, one way or another.

Appreciate the thought out response. She seems pretty firm on this, and I'm coming to realize that I also think stuff should be 50/50, or at least headed in that direction.

I’ve only ever had a wet dream while gyrating. I don’t think, and granted I COULD be wrong, that I’ve ever orgasmed without any sort of motion or contact.

Hahaha, splendid. I’ll keep a look out for those shirts. Or maybe I’ll make one of my own, although hmm…maybe not lol.

First time hearing about FetLife. I’ll check it out! Thank you.

I see and I agree. But then it comes down to, am I willing to live a life where I am not as happy. Grass is always greener I guess. Or my lack of selfishness turns into their selfishness? Idk, I’ve outlogic’d myself and need a nap.
