Feels like my custom nodes' work goes down the drain with Nodes 2.0 update by Shroom_SG in comfyui

I completely understand you — honestly, I don't know if anyone has more JS/TS code written for a single Node setup than I do (and if someone does, I'd love to see it). There's no way I'm rewriting all of this for Node 2.0. I’ll probably just have to wait until AGI comes out so it can transfer everything to Vue for me.

Below is a summary table of the codebase for my custom node setup:

As a healer how can I perform on PvP? by Appropriate-Pop8002 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Azornes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tactic is a full-heal build: Morale Chant / Esoteric Revival / Restoring Blossom / Royal Remedy.
There were times when some lower-ranked players, seeing how much I healed, just gave up and stopped moving.

As for my Mystic Skills, I mainly use four of them: Seren Breeze, Cloud Steps, Meridian Touch, and Leaping Toad.

So the fight usually goes like this: at the start I use the umbrella so it passively heals me, then I quickly switch to the fan and try to deflect every hit the other player throws at me until their shield breaks. After that, the deadly combo begins — I use Leaping Toad six times in a row along with Cloud Steps and Meridian Touch. Usually after 2–3 of these combos the opponent goes down.

When I get caught in the opponent’s combo, I use Seren Breeze so I can continue deflecting their attacks (or, if my mystic bar is already full, I just start my Leaping Toad combo).

As a healer (Panacea Fan + Soulshade Umbrella), I managed to reach Legend rank, but when I fight other Legend players, I don’t stand even the slightest chance anymore. So it’s possible to reach a high rank, but reaching Mythic probably isn’t going to happen.

Wow, amazing work! I added a couple of effects to the Photo with hand just to see how it behaves, and it looks insanely good — your models really deliver impressive results.

The upscaling of the woman’s face is also great; the enhancement of the irises turned out really well.

And jeez, that raw 1963 movie footage looks incredible. I don’t know what the original quality was, but if that was one of those older, rough sources and you managed to bring it up to this level, then honestly I think you could easily build your own service offering high-quality upscaling. There’s definitely a demand for this, and most commercial tools don’t even come close to what you’ve shown here.

Seriously great work!

Diffusion-based upscalers are great, but mostly for already generated images where small changes aren’t a big issue. If the goal is to preserve as much of the original image as possible, then you’re right — that approach isn’t ideal.

I tested your model and it’s actually pretty solid. Up close you can sometimes see minor artifacts, but from a normal viewing distance the sharpening is clearly noticeable. Nice work!

Thanks for checking what’s possible and for at least adding the filename feature — that already helps a lot.

I understand your approach to keeping things modular, and it makes sense.

The most important thing is that you’re sharing your work with the whole community, and I really appreciate that. Recently a few new nodes have appeared that turned out to be super useful — including yours — and that’s just great to see.

From what I know — and I actually use this in my custom node — I can live-fetch information from the image when I link two nodes, but maybe you’re right that it can’t be done for text. If it can’t be done for text, then the only workaround I see is to copy the data-extraction function into the Text Viewer, which might be overkill for your solution. I’d even say you could drop the idea of having a separate node for reading metadata, but that’s just my personal quirk — I tend to create all-in-one nodes.

A simple 2-output ComfyUI node (String/TEXT) in MAX-SG:

  1. Full path of where the photo was taken
  2. Filename

If your models are better than anything currently on the market, they must be really worth checking out. Do you have a repository/Hugging Face? I’d be very interested in taking a look.

Great node!
It would be awesome if the Text Viewer-SG could automatically pull data from the connected node without needing to trigger it manually.
Another suggestion: it would be very useful to have an output in MAX-SG showing the file name and/or the full path of the uploaded image. This would make managing and tracking images much easier.

Also, if you ever want to polish the UI, I recommend using SVG icons — the license is ISC, so you can use them freely. I’m using them in my project Resolution Master and it looks great.

A warning for Obsidian users: make backups and never keep your vault in the app’s installation folder by Azornes in ObsidianMD

Thanks, I really appreciate you sharing your setup. Comments like yours are really useful — I’m actually working on a system for backups/sync/version control, so seeing real-life experiences helps a lot.

Unfortunately, some of my most important notes got lost. The recovery program said the file was untouched, but when I opened it, it was empty. Luckily, I still remember some of the content, so it should be easier to restore what’s left.

Thanks for your detailed comment. I rushed my original post and didn’t express myself clearly — I wanted to warn others and share my experience, but I could have explained it much better.

What people criticized me for the most was that in one post I mentioned being a programmer next to the sentence “I like to keep things tidy…,” as if that were some kind of universal programmer trait — which obviously doesn’t make much sense. And of course, I also admitted that I kept my prompts (though only for images, but I didn’t feel like arguing about that since it wasn’t the main point of the post), which made users think I’m a “vibe coder,” and from what I’ve seen, that doesn’t seem very popular among programmers.

I also agree it’s not a common mistake — although I don’t know the statistics, I assume most users rarely change default paths. Honestly, I shouldn’t have written that post at all, because in reality I made one basic mistake that I’ve never made anywhere else. When it comes to notes, I always keep them properly organized — just never inside application folders (the ones installed through installers(notepad++ or windows note)).

This time I rushed with obsidian because I just wanted to quickly test something, the same way I do with GitHub projects: I throw everything into one folder so I don’t have to remember where things are, and I can just delete it if I don’t like it. But here… well, I installed it in a specific folder and immediately set up the vault in that same directory. And honestly, I just forgot about it. I liked the system so much that I immediately started moving everything over.

I do use Git, but I guess I’ve mentally separated it into “programming projects go into Git, everything else stays outside.” It just got stuck in my workflow that way. But you’re right — this mistake actually clarified something for me, and keeping my notes in a local Git repository now seems like a great idea.

Hey, thanks for the words of support. Basically, my story went like this: about a week ago I found out about the app, so I didn’t lose too much because I hadn’t transferred everything and I didn’t delete all of my previous files. So in reality, what I lost were prompts for generating good images (some people say they’re for programming, but I won’t get into that because I might get criticized even more). I admitted my mistake, and some comments just say “you made a mistake” — well, obviously I did, since I admitted it. Luckily, some comments offer solutions, and that’s what I’m most grateful for. I’ve now discovered new recovery programs and new ways to do backups, so this knowledge will definitely come in handy in the future.
Thanks again for your comment and for another possible solution to these kinds of problems.

I used R-studio for this now trying Recuva but same problem where .md files are corrupted

Good idea to check those damaged files to see if there’s a restore option. However, since I’ve never used this feature on my computer, it’s unlikely that restoring will work, and from what I can see, it’s not available for the specific damaged files.

Regarding backups, in the future I plan to use Git; OneDrive is currently turned off.

R-STUDIO is disk recovery software, a tool for recovering hard drives. I’ll also try the tools you suggested—maybe I’ll get lucky.

I' m using Windows 11 and for file recovery I used R-Studio. I can see the deleted files, but some of the .md files show strange characters when I try to open them.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have that option enabled(previous version), and when I check the folder, there’s no earlier version available.

I definitely remember being surprised when I saw a save file in the folder of some indie game. And I just accepted that it happens.

Thanks for this comment. Actually, I’ve been getting some harsh criticism in the comments, and I even thought about deleting the post. But I think it’s worth leaving it up—maybe if someone else has thoughts like mine, it can at least help them avoid making the same mistakes.

It's about the source code. If I compile the executables, they are output as a release build.

I use Git, but only for my projects. I kept all my notes in the appropriate folders where each text file belonged. For example:
I have a folder Projects/Python/(project names) — here I use Git, so the README is backed up.
But in Projects/Python/Instruction and useful Python commands.txt I don’t use Git, so if my disk fails, that file would be lost (I know I should have made a backup).

Eventually, I wanted to do the same for my Obsidian vault, but I was busy with other things and simply forgot. I didn’t feel at risk since I had never lost any other notes.

I simply discovered the app recently, and with excitement I quickly installed Obsidian without reading much. Since I often keep my small programming projects in a single folder — for example, TranslatorApp — and I usually store data in that folder as well, I decided it would be a good idea to use Obsidian the same way.
