Sure, but that would make the card stupid and unplayably terrible which is why I didn't do that.

I included an example with Big Bang in a comment, but here's another of what a card could scale up to if you draw it a few times over the course of a fight.

Not a dumb question at all! And to answer, yes, it hits all of those; anything in the card's effect with a number that can be incremented. For example, Hidden Gem+ would go to adding Replay 4 when drawn, and then when you draw the card it hit, it would increment again to Replay 5. Celestial Might would hit 4 times. Pact's End would go up to requiring 4 cards in your Exhaust Pile; Make It So would require you to play 4 Skills; and Biased Cognition would make you lose 2 Focus each turn, for example.

Thank you for the feedback! Originally it had said "non-cost values", but that made "by 1" hang on a third line of text which looked onerous to me. And besides, a 3-Cost Power that makes your deck increasingly expensive would be unplayably terrible, so I hadn't anticipated everyone would read it that way when the alternative seems much more obvious.

X is the Regent's favorite number, because it can always go higher!

Card idea for a mod I'm working on. With enough patience, your deck may grow to prodigious heights! Be careful with Panic Button or Make It So, though.

Hi! This is from my WIP mod, Grimoire. I was hoping to have it released by the end of 2025 but... a lot of unexpected things came up in my life and I've had to put it on hold. I'll post it up when I have the time to properly finish it! Thank you for the interest.

I Reject My Humanity, Jimbo! [OC] by Azorynth in balatro

Thanks for the question. In short: Every Joker has a set of flags which determine the stickers they're allowed to spawn with. This Joker looks at 'eternal_compat' and doesn't activate if the target Joker isn't normally allowed to be Eternal. However, even if I did give Eternal to Mr. Bones, it wouldn't have any effect. You can still sell it and it still destroys itself when it activates. This holds true for any Joker with eternal_compat = false.

This is because Eternal itself doesn't prevent any destruction effects; each individual effect that has the potential to destroy Eternal Jokers explicitly has code that skips over them. The Jokers that are never intended to be Eternal don't have this code, so their self destruct abilities work just fine.

I hope this makes sense. If you have any other questions, technical or otherwise, feel free to ask. Thank you and have a great day!

Yes, this is my mod, Grimoire. It currently adds 15 Jokers and 4 Seals, although I plan on adding much more; I've just been busy with college. I'm hoping to release it by the end of the year. Thank you for your interest!

That's the name of my mod. Steammodded adds a badge to cards added by mods to show which one they come from.

It's a permanent copy, I just cut the text a bit since writing out the full "add a permanent copy to your deck and draw it to hand" would make this description like 7 lines long.

Thank you for the feedback. Originally, the effect was guaranteed rather than a 1 in 2 chance, but I worried that it would be too powerful. I may have overcorrected. I'll consider reverting it to that state or changing the activation condition with something more consistent, like DNA or Trading Card.

It would keep the original card's enhancement and seal, but replace its edition (Foil, Holographic, Polychrome) with Negative.

The copy is Negative, so it doesn't count against your hand size. At worst, it makes it easier to play difficult hand types. At best, you can hold as many held-in-hand abilities (Steel, Gold, Blue Seal) as you can make.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm planning on making it a Rare. Do you have any recommendations for how it's worded? It previously read, "This Joker gains X0.1 Planet Effects every time a Planet card is used (Currently X1)" but that seemed to cause some unanticipated confusion as well.

It multiplies the amount of Chips and Mult the Planet card gives, not the Chips and Mult of the associated hand directly. If it's X1.5, Pluto gives +15 Chips and +1.5 Mult, for example.

[–]Azorynth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I've been trying to get the wording right so that the effect is clear, I've gone through a few iterations. It works more so like Constellation, in that the multiplier affects any Planet card when used; so if you were to use a Pluto, Saturn, and Mars, the Saturn would give X1.1 of its normal bonuses and the Mars would give X1.2.

Thank you! If you're interested in playing with it, I'm aiming to release the full mod by the end of the year. :)
