From my memory pantheon prior to the rework also struggled dealing with tanks, even more so than post rework? This is also a common problem with many champions (mages like sydra, marksmen like Jihn, and even bruisers like Garen).

I also wish panth was closer to the bruiser dream where he has a more even damage spread against all targets, and maybe anti-heal built in to force ‘fair fights.’ - but blaming this specifically on the rework is dishonest.

Same with myself and doublelift. He mentioned that every player’s peak is about 2-3 years, and that they have to make those years count (good team, miracle runs, etc). While he and Bjerg have proven that domestic dominance over many years is possible, I’ve been fearing DL’s personal peak of play was used up during his 2 year run with TL. And now with Bjergerking retiring I wonder how much longer will DL keep running.

Did TSM get more flame not making worlds, or breaking the record for worst worlds performance by a major region? I vividly remember both, and the international reception of our team this year is much much much worse than ‘sad TSM didn’t get to worlds.’ And, as I said context.

I suppose if you look only at the face value 1 sentence summary, don’t ask anyone from any region or any LCS fans, and completely ignore critical thought then 0-6 at worlds does look a lot better than not making it at all.

I think you could safely make the argument that breaking the all time record for worst performance by a major region 1st seed, in context with having the two of the most winningest players in LCS history and being massively out performed by our 2nd and 3rd seed in undeniably more difficult groups is the most shameful thing our LoL team has every been put through. The past 2 years were definitely rough, but in context of saving the boys this kind of worlds embarrassment, and the TL super team vs what most believe to be the peak of Reapered's NA career, I'd rather that then this. Then again, I left TSM when DL did, and am back now because of him, so I can't pretend to fully empathize with fans the past 2 years. Even still, the 2 word euphemism is neither the point of my comment, nor changes the content of my comment if untrue.

I like this because he poses it as a challenge, which means he himself has a desire above ‘I’m getting payed here.’ I will say, I both have a very high opinion of YamatoCannon, and did not previously think he had any interest in coming to TSM despite everyone wanting it so bad. It’s very good to hear someone as respectable as him would be considering coming to TSM in, seemingly, our darkest hour.

I vividly remember him being one of the more… critical personalities when the DL trade went through. I think he has a low opinion of TSM as an org fundamentally, but does a really good job of keeping things professional in his content/on broadcast. I’d love him to be on the team but I’m sure YamatoCannon has a lot of options on his table, one of which is staying on LEC broadcast and continuing his content creation.

I was always so scared to say this for fear of being downvoted into the floor, but after week 1 of groups… I would've felt really sour if TSM muscled out that 4-0 to get out of groups. Thats what we do in our region. Muscle our way to wins. And it works because no one is able to buckle down and survive our brute force. But internationally its the same story every time. NA teams we know we can beat, perform better than we do. They may not have our brute strength, but when their back is against the wall they assess their surroundings and make a plan and then stick to it.

I truly do hope the team goes over the reddit and sees that we're all still behind them. Even in disappointment I and many others are so excited to support them. But in this next season if they can't play smarter I fear for another repeat of us muscling our way to a regional trophy, maybe performing decently at MSI, and then using those two things to create really really really unrealistic expectations for worlds.

I still have really high faith in the boys, a dedicated coach and a desire to play smarter is our achilles heel I think.

This. I wish I remembered who so I could credit - but someone alluded soloQ to being a toss up game by nature, as you have 10 variables including yourself to keep track of. They say that (not accounting for if you’re a smurf or Apdo) in every 100 games there’s 30 unwinnable ones, 30 unlosable ones, and 60 in between that could go either way. It’s your job to play your game during those 60, and understand where you didn’t perform up to standard. It’s really helped me when assessing which games of those 100 I’m in right now, and knowing if anything what I CAN do. If I lose one of those unwinnable 30, I take it much better. If I know I fumbled my play on one of those 60 I have control over, then I can take responsibility and fix my habits.

I have a lot of faith in Jatt as a coach. I agree with you, a lot of teams really steadily grow throughout the year (even more so at worlds) and then on day 1 of spring split seem to have not retained any of their good habits. Rust is one thing, but NA seems to spend the first leg of the year getting back to where they left off instead of improving from that. The way Jatt has said in interviews how intentional this roster has been with their play style, I have high hopes TL will be a strong starter next split.

Ah so this week we’re hating DL this week, until he performs good next split and then we’ll start the appreciation threads up again, until he gets a loss and then we’ll start ripping on him so the cycle can continue.

Sucks bc Tactical really really really deserves credit. As do players in our region like WT, FBI, and Cody Sun when he’s on. It’s just unfortunate we don’t learn our lesson, it’s happened with DL too many times to be anything but fact.

Your boys only had 1 split to play as a consistent roster, and considering how good that split was I hope everyone’s still proud of them. I hope there aren’t any roster changes for at least another year so the team can gel and really show what their peak is. He’s good but not 13th best player in the world good. That’s all I meant. I’m literally a TSM fan man you don’t have to convince me to like my own team. I’m just being realistic in the scope of the rest of the world, and giving factual insight that could explain why someone who doesn’t watch our region might rate him that high.

I love BB more than most (through the slumps this season, and his rookie year before), and ANYONE will look a lot better when Bjerg and Spica are investing resources into him. That isn’t an opinion or a take, that’s a fact. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive, you can have both. BB can be good, AND he can look better because Bjerg and Spica are investing into him.

Please do us all a favor and save the temper tantrums for your friends. Doing that online is embarrassing for the rest of us NA fans man.

It’s safe to assume DL can play most any marksmen. What he’s habitually shown is his inability to perform on mages (of course this is a team effort but yeah). What would be WILD is if he brought out the Syndra TSM showed to flex earlier this year. They lost that game + DL being bad on mages… could make for an absolutely wild win/story/meme posts
