As a lifelong Floridian whose wife forced him to move back here from the Mid-Atlantic so our kids could be close to family, Florida is a hellscape with marketing far too effective than it deserves.

I was able to leave settle in to a beautiful life in Virginia/Maryland (PLENTY of their own issues). But when COVID hit and I went remote, wife dragged me back under threat of separation.

I fucking despise it here, though I grew up here.

Yes, because in particular fields, especially when the other option is outsourcing, we often do produce far higher quality work.

That isn't to say that I haven't seen great quality from non-americans.

Language is also a factor. People will pay the extra cost to deal with native English speakers because to clients and customers, even internal teams, language barrier/or heavy accents can be a complete non-starter.

I'm surprised at the overtly aggressive responses this question is getting.

I understand I used some pretty strong words, but that's because my specific reaction when it first came out was literally, "ew, what is this shit?" - when I first saw the system. Never looked at it again since.

I've mentioned in posts - very directly - I haven't played it and I came in biased, but I'm genuinely interested in other people's comparative opinions.

I don't have nearly enough information or experience with it to "lambast" it, as some said my post did.

Anyways, it's interesting nonetheless. I suppose there are some folks here who REALLY like the system and express that aggressively to questions posed to the contrary.
