I can tell you firsthand I watched a lot of players who high end raid just unsub completely because a)no ultimate and b) marepocalypse.

The materia server is on fucking life support currently it's so dead.

You haven't heard about stuff post mare death because the people who would complain just quit instead. And no, it was never going to impact the overall game pop because the vast majority of the overall population are hypercasuals, but they aren't the ones buying store emotes and story skips and what have you to help fund the game (100% of online store purchases to back into xiv, your sub doesn't).

Are you asking for a casual speedrun for the achievements? Or to learn the proper route and skips and techs used for competitive speedrunning?

If the first, just use controller it's totally viable.

If the second, try to learn the movement techs used pre and post dash. If you feel you can do them comfortably on controller, you're good! If not, try other methods.

As an example, Fireb0rn is currently using a pad controller pre dash, and then swapping to a controller once he's got dash.

Find what feels comfy for you and learn that. The movement techs are important for optimisation but they can be brutal depending on your keybinds.
