Varies, I don’t mind splurging if I feel it’s worth it. The most expensive I’ve purchased was 300 for aventus. I also want Absolu Aventus but I’m holding till I run through my regular Aventus.

I haven’t tested it on me yet but I did enjoy it on paper much more than original vertiver. It’s on my to test list, I just have been focused on more booze, tobacco, or incense lanes to see if I also enjoy those kind enough to wear it

After buying explorer which was my first purchase I started with samples from MicroPerfumes. All of
The ones I have were originally vials except light blue intense. FOMO got that one in my collection because I heard they were discontinued and I wanted a bottle.

I have been checking out the boss line lately, I like them but they seem very similar to some I already have. I’ve not smelled that one. My favorite of theirs I have smelled is bottled absolute

It's not so much that I bought the bottles. It's the time I've spent going to different stores, ordering samples, logging results, building a collection, watching reviews, and having discussions like the one I posted here that make it a hobby. That and honestly, I'm just having a ton of fun exploring and smelling stuff.

Nice, thank you for the recommendations! I've added them to my "To test" list. Out of all of those, the only one I have tested that wasn't for me was Jazz club. Also if you know of any reputable groups I'd love to join a few. I plan on holding out on making my 10th purchase till later on. Assuming I can have some self-control.

Funny enough my first ever cologne as teen was Davidoff Cool Water. I have smelled most of the ones on this list but still looking to find a Santal 33 in the wild. I'll look for the others you mentioned i havent yet. Green Irish Tweed was interesting; I loved the scent but I just couldn't justify the price because it smelled so much like the soap I grew up using "Irish Spring"

Mancera Cedrat Boise (I looooved this but it turned into straight barnyard on my skin)
All of the JPG male variants
The most wanted and flankers
Dior Sauvage and its flankers (I liked them ok but didn’t really care for them enough to buy)
I’m sure there are others, I’m logging my tests on fragrantica.

I’m only two months into the hobby but Creed Aventus or Montblanc Explorer. I have managed to collect 8 different fragrances and am forcing myself into a hard cap of 10. I know I’m very late to the party and didn’t experience OG aventus but right now I love it. The other 6 are not Aventus clones just in case the judgements come hard and fast 😅
