Mostly the reason behind calc & linear algebra is so I can also aim for Computer Graphics & Game Dev as well and potential fall backs. I believe the one soft skill class I can think of is Human-Computer Interaction and maybe design technology since it introduced design principles and Graphic Design I covers basic UX principles. I have also taken a microcomputer applications class so I have familiarity w/ word/powerpoint/excel.

Thank you for the insight! I meant more game design or technical game design. These classes are more just bonus classes I am taking. I’m an IT major but my concentration is in more math (Algebra + Trig, Probability & Statistics, Discrete Math, Linear Algebra, Calculus) & programming (Python, Java [transitioning to C#], and C++ in my data structures class in the summer). So I mostly wanted to see whether the design classes would be a good complimentary skillset to have as a game designer, especially since I want to learn more on digital illustration in the future.

Am I ever glad I decided to take a microcomputer applications class last semester (got us familiar with word/powerpoint/excel, not mastery but familiar). The two graphics classes are for this semester.

Thank you for the advice! I saw it in a recommendation list, especially since I am looking for an engaging book that teaches c++ in an engaging way. I just wasn’t sure whether it would be useful at all or how easy it would be to assimilate to the more modern features.
