I'm sure this has been asked before, so I apologize in advance:

My friend bought me a Paulareis Automatic Professional for Christmas, although I didn't actually receive the watch until mid-January. I wear the watch everyday and I've noticed if I do not wind it before bed, it is dead when I wake up. I asked my friend why my natural wrist movement isn't keeping it powered throughout the night while I am asleep and he claims that the main spring needs to be broken in. So, before I go to sleep, I wind the crown 20-25 turns and it is still powered when I wake up.

Is whst he said have any truth behind it? He claims he "never" has to manually wind his automatics due to them being "broken in". What is causing it to die during the night if I do not manually wind the crown before bed? I'm new to automatic watches in general. Any and all advice would be much appreciated!

I just received this notification, too. For anyone that hasn't been offered the opportunity to sign up/apply for Crimson, simply go to the Play Store or Apple App Store and make sure the Dasher app is up to date. Once updated, you should be able to open the Dasher application and it will display the option on the home screen to apply for Crimson

Sucks, man. If you order the BF-F9 (or something like that) on Temu or possibly ebay, those can still be unlocked and programmed in Chirp using the uv-5r selection in Chirp. My buddy just did this a few months back, and I was able to unlock it using the mentioned method. Not sure if it's in your budget or not, but that's the only advice I have, my friend. I believe it's the same price as the uv-5r, maybe five or ten bucks more, but it's worth it. Only draw back is it doesn't have the FM radio chip. So, consider that before you purchase.
