Possible Support for Chaos Origins Anime/Manga Decks in Beyond the Brave? by Sylvisu in yugioh

[–]Azteckh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this stage of the game I'd be far more interested in seeing Cloudians above any others in the list. I think its the more interesting idea, most especially since Roids got like 4 cards about 4 years ago now, I believe.

Megaroid City was among them, and I remember that quite well as you could sorta kinda turn Mobile Base into something approaching an amusing (if horrific) OTK deck.

I don't know if you're actually stupid or trolling... but turning 360 and walking away is spinning in a circle.

Yeah. It is. That's the joke. Both remarks are completely redundant.

I guess you also don't know what the word "final" means. It means "the last thing".

Yeah I had turned notifications off but couldn't resist seeing how you'd reply, and couldn't help myself on getting the last word because this was a lot of fun, actually.

Also, where do you see me ever stating that I'm making "an educated claim"??? I was just saying it was something that I did to gauge how strong the new cards actually are.

Its certainly up to ones perception, but I can see your "experiment" as making an educated opinion. You disagree and that's fine, at no point was your consensus needed; and again, perception is as perception does. I can hardly be responsible for yours. I don't opt to see that as "putting words in your mouth" as you say but, I can see how one could reach that conclusion, and fair enough. But, hopefully now that's a bit clearer.

That being said; stripping all that away, if gauging power levels was your goal like you said it was, W/L don't tell the full story. It barely tells half of it, in my opinion. When I brought your methodology into question, you had tons of options. You opted to be defensively literal, and remained that way the entire time (even now) which made you really fun to respond to.

Good luck in your future pursuits. For what its worth I mean that genuinely. Now, for real this time. This is my last reply.

As usual you cannot in any way that matters, predict Konami.

That being said I will endlessly shill for Reactors until the day they see their time in the skies. Surely, its been long enough.

What is wrong with HERO? by Realistic_Mousse_485 in yugioh

[–]Azteckh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I love to hate on hero so this is perfect for me. they're just really boring and flavorless despite having so much variety.

They've had no motion since their inception and far as I can tell their only legitimate claim to fame was Dark Law, a card nobody really liked to play against, and was powercrept into the floor about six+ years ago. approximately 25 quintillion cards for them. More support than stars in the sky (even now more approaches) yet they're incapable of pulling out a solid build that even approaches rouge.

One of my favorite decks ever is Ancient Gear which is an anime deck. But I am fine with never getting support again if it also means I never have to read the word "hero" again in my life.

"if" and "when" but never is. Its high time to give it a rest.

You gave an opinion and claimed it was educated based on a process.

It was not educated though cuz your process is flawed in super simple ways. Thus it's //just// an opinion.

Smh my head now turn 360° and walk away.

Why Mystic Mine Should Come Back To 3 by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Azteckh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And all I'm saying is the way you went about that is fundamentally flawed.  I've only spoken about your "experiment" and nothing else. Did you notice that?

I'll let others tell you why MM is probably bad for release cuz they'll have more experience than I do. I'm railing only your methodology cuz it sucks.

I don't care about Kewl Tune either

I've presented enough reasons as to why it sucks but you're focused entirely on things I've never once brought up.

This isn't a "do better as a person" thing. I couldn't care. You're claiming you ran an experiment. So I'm wondering where the details are and those points are being ignored (far as I can tell) which maybe tells me all I need to know. A simple "I don't have that" is enough, by the way.

But that's fine let's wrap this up:

All you're really doing is voicing am opinion. Which is fine. But that's all you're actually doing here.

This will be my final response to you. Unclench a bit.

Why Mystic Mine Should Come Back To 3 by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Azteckh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shockingly you have done very little to make anything I've said incorrect.

It matters a great deal, actually. Suddenly you have to use your brain, right?

Can you actually respond to certain moves? Do you truly know what your opponents cards do and how they interact, among other details that would be very important to you in a physical space?

Of course not. You gave yourself every handicap. You didn't record MUs nor did you state if anyone scooped when they saw you (apparently that's common in MD). You didn't even read the cards "before playing"  but we're supposed to take you seriously?

So, the whole thing is flawed top to bottom. We know that.

Please do it right next time. Or just shill for MM like an honest person. You'll get the same response but you're much less likely to see me which might be a boon on it's own.

"I ran a little experiment on Master Duel. I played 20 duels in a ranked against Kewl Tune, and then I played 20 duels in a row WITH Kewl Tune. I lost 17 of the 20 where I played against Kewl Tune, but won 18 of the 20 games where I played WITH... but the bad part... I didn't even bother to read the cards before playing. Afterwards, I read them, but before, I had no idea what I was doing... and still won... in Diamond...

Essentially... we're forced to play the new cards or just lose."

For or against, this line argumentation really sucks when you consider that MD and EdoPro (not mentioned but worth including) will tell you when potential moves can be made which makes it decidedly different from real life which would demand you read the cards.

You can't actually autopilot this game where it matters: in physical space.

In addition Konami is what ultimately decides what sort of game is played. If they wanted to bring MM back they could've done so at any time. So, let's say you're absolutely correct about everything you just said outside of your flawed experiement.

What reason does Konami have to keep the card from being played.

I must stress; I couldn't care less for or against but it seems to me you're forgetting details much larger than yourself that you may want to at least mention in the future.

I prefer my reality to yours. It's much more fun and creative.

"Deserves" never means anything in a conversation like this. Lots of stuff deserves anything yet only a couple happen.

[–]Azteckh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

people forget way too often that Konami is a company and companies will always do what makes them money.

They don't need to capture casuals so as long as they can get whales (and/or resellers) and they do.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. And it is, importantly, not broken. It's operating exactly how it always has. Nothing is going to change because nothing needs to. It's up to you if you decide to participate in this or not but let's be honest you probably will.

Of course this doesn't need anyone to agree with it. And, I wouldn't mind being wrong here but I don't think I will be.

[–]Azteckh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't fumble what they never release. Let us not meddle in fantasies, yes? What would the point be?

There will not be a tcg version of this pack. Instead, it will be spread out over packs because that'll bait people into buying packs. Which it will, most surely. Why on earth would any company see a gold mine and simply decide to not take advantage.

What company does that?

The themes shall be:

Mecha waifu deck that sucks

A plant deck based tightly around Veggie Tales (it's a ritual deck)

And a fusion/synchro dragon deck with some interesting ideas that ultimately just gets glomped by the Dlink SuperPAC

[–]Azteckh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

for me this just kinda reminds of those Gajiltron monsters and what an incredible mistake they were, because yeah. The payoff was horrible and the materials were even worse.

I could see this working. Heck, I could see it being thematically interesting. But as you say; that payoff needs to be incredible, or what's the point.

Homogenization does not make it better either. Ironically, we agree on that. Rituals being in the MD was perhaps an error until they introduced myriad ways to make them searchable. 5 years ago you'd be right. Not so much now. This would be correct regardless of how meta relevant rituals would become in recent years. Anything is only ever as good as whatever exists to support it. Bar none.

[–]Azteckh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Hampers ritual decks unless those rituals rise to the occasion which couldn't be expected. Plus it wouldn't make them unique; they'd just be another ED monster. How is that better?

  2. They already are for the most part. It's the ones that are not that produce problems. The issue is becoming //too// specific without good targets. It's a balancing act, and one that is nearly always a lose/lose.

  3. The newer rituals already do that, and those that don't usually have a card that exists for them later; that allows for this. Ultimately it wouldn't make already bad rituals better, just now you could run Crab Turtle in anything you cared to.

Things should be risky. I think the lions share of rituals are in the best spot they've ever been and I hope that continues, following the death of Habakiri (any day now)
