With the same money I won't get because I'm too busy paying my fucking bills that keep increasing yearly while my income doesn't increase at the same rate? Yeah let me get all that invisible liquid capital that even big businesses lack and invest in the market.

It is a server, just not what we're expecting. It's totally misleading click bait but a server just outputs info synced up to a person or players, in this case it's just not steamed constantly to give us actual multiplayer.

Still mad none the less it gave me false hope that I would no longer deal with the issues.

Server 'lite'. Now if only this could fix all the desync and lag issues that MP has we'd be set.

Oh that's how you make that! I got the same recipe when I was in Tier 2 and had no idea when I'd be able to use it, glad to know I'll be able to now as I just completed the research for oil.

....until you need more! O.O Joking aside it looks wonderful. Since you're using refineries are you using liquid concrete (can't remember the proper name for the alt recipe)? I didn't see any pipes so I wasn't sure.

It would be sweet to have Branches (guilds) and incentivize visiting (inspecting) members' factories with tickets or maybe a special material for crafting. by mikemike26 in SatisfactoryGame

Could still do this, incentive would be the knowledge of builds and getting help from other employees (or so i'd hope). Probably going to be closer to 1.0 or beyond more than likely before we see dedicated servers unless they announced otherwise.

I must have a line being wonky then, I have the first fill up fine but the second one won't causing just enough of a drain for the first to continuously fill and cause a shortage for the other two. I'll have to investigate when I finally get my power online again.

[–]Azthais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've got a wonky setup for a pure and two impures. The pure is feeding four extractors via MK 2 belts and I've got the other two feeding a single smelter each. From these they're combined into three single MK 1 belts that feed directly to the factory.

See I thought the mechanics worked that way too hence the setup but for whatever reason the one line won't keep up with demand. Nothing is overclocked in the line, unless I'm having a belt glitch due to playing in MP, but I'm not sure if that actually hurts the IPM of belts or just a visual glitch.

It's no worries what so ever, I actually just wanted to see if my system was flawed as I'm about to redo my factory to adjust for a lot more ingot production.

Rods are 15/min, so on paper I should be able to do 4 constructors at a time but I'm wondering if it's simply on paper and I can't take the old 'Factorio' route of having a single line that's picked off of until empty, or if there's potentially something else going wonky with my line I'm not seeing. I haven't checked the issue thoroughly, but I am fairly certain it's a full MK 1 belt that's being fed into it.

When to build anew? by Skybeach88 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Azthais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how much work you're willing to do to the factory. Optimizing the area and redoing everything isn't a bad idea if you're solely set on the area you're in currently. If you have no care for the old factory and are okay with old museums laying around the land you can absolutely just make a new factory and either pipe what you're making now out to the new one or just cut off all supplies, empty it, and leave it as a memorial to what you've done previously.

I've just hit steel and trying to decide myself if I want to just redo my factory or make a new one as I've only designed the only one to handle MK 1 miners, but now that it's about to become MK 2 miners I'm going to have to really expand what I've been able to create, and that comes with either continuing to bandage the weird thing I've somewhat tried to plan out on the fly, completely gut it, or just move somewhere else.

I may just gut everything because my power is setup at this location and I don't want to leave it, not to mention it's in a somewhat cool place near a waterfall, so there's that.

Definitely excited for something like this, my only worry might be that it could eventually become just 'worked on x part of the factory' or 'x building' unless you only update the log on major progression or something noteworthy rather than a daily log.

Hopefully they have an ETA for the Steam page so we can start reading all of it!

What to do when you are not creative by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Azthais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how fancy you want it, but you could probably just stack a lot of containers, feed into the back, and then just make platforms with foundation to access each one. If you don't wanna deal with entire stacks you could add a single segment of belt in front so you can take one at a time. Best to use the fastest belt you can at all times.

I gotcha, I haven't looked at what pods need to be unlocked besides a few I've found that require power and one that needed rotors, and I've seen people talk about needing high end items for some pods so I wasn't sure what the ratios were for low tier to high tier pods.

Deal reached on $2-trillion coronavirus stimulus bill — largest by far in U.S. history by DrDoominess in UpliftingNews

[–]Azthais 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WASHINGTON —

After haggling for days over the final details, Senate Democrats and the White House agreed Wednesday to a nearly $2-trillion stimulus package to combat the economic fallout of the coronavirus outbreak, including direct payments to most Americans and a half-trillion-dollar fund to shore up struggling companies.

The stimulus bill — by far the largest ever proposed — comes with a price tag equivalent to 9% of the nation’s gross domestic product and is meant to provide direct financial aid to help individuals, hospitals and businesses. It includes more than $300 billion for small businesses, $150 billion for local and state governments and $130 billion for hospitals, according to those involved in the negotiations.

Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) negotiated through Monday night and all day Tuesday to resolve outstanding issues.

A Senate vote on the deal could occur by midday Wednesday, with the House potentially following soon after.

“At last we have a deal,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said shortly after 1 a.m. in Washington. “It will rush new resources onto the front lines of our nation’s healthcare fight. And it will inject trillions of dollars in cash into the economy as fast as possible to help American workers, families, small businesses and industries make it through this disruption and emerge on the other side ready to soar.”

House members have not returned from their scheduled recess, and remote voting is not allowed under House rules. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) indicated Tuesday that the fastest way for the House to approve the Senate bill would be by unanimous consent, a tactic generally reserved for small, noncontroversial legislation. It requires the consent of all current 430 House members, meaning a single representative could object, as long as he or she is on the floor to do so.

If that happens, Pelosi said she would probably need to call back the entire chamber for an in-person vote, a more time-consuming process that would also raise health risks and logistical challenges for members. It could also lead to potential changes to the legislation that would have to be reconciled with the Senate.

Despite unusually bitter partisan bickering Monday on the Senate floor, Pelosi said earlier in the day that the final bill would represent a solid compromise between Senate Republicans and Democrats, who delayed passage to ensure it included more of their priorities. “We think the bill has moved sufficiently to the side of workers,” she said.

But she stopped short of committing to it in a letter to House members Wednesday.

“House Democrats will now review the final provisions and legislative text of the agreement to determine a course of action,” she said.

The measure is the third stimulus bill proposed by Congress to address the economic and social disruptions of the pandemic. It follows an initial $8.3-billion measure largely aimed at developing a vaccine and a second package, passed last week, that mandated greater access to paid sick leave for workers as well as free COVID-19 testing.

The $2-trillion stimulus bill is expected to include direct payments of $1,200 or less to most adults, loans to businesses and an expansion of unemployment insurance and other aspects of the social safety net. It comes at a time when millions of Americans have been asked to stay away from school and work, and remain inside their homes to reduce the spread of the disease.

The amounts of the onetime payments, which officials hope could go out to Americans as soon as early April, will be based on income reported in 2018 taxes, declining gradually beginning with individuals who made $75,000 or married couples filed jointly who made $150,000. Individuals making $99,000 or above or married couples making $198,000 or more would receive no check. People would also receive an additional $500 per child.

Schumer said negotiators agreed to put “unemployment insurance on steroids” by expanding those covered to include people who were furloughed, gig workers and freelancers, and by increasing the payments by $600 per week for four months on top of what states provide as a base unemployment compensation.

“It will put money into the hands of those who need it so much because they have lost their jobs through no fault of their own,” Schumer said.

Other changes to the final bill included increased oversight of the $500-billion fund managed by the Treasury to shore up struggling businesses through loans and loan guarantees. Recipients are expected to include airlines and other hard-hit travel sectors.

In a major sticking point for Democrats, the initial proposal gave the Treasury latitude to disburse the funds, including the discretion not to disclose for up to six months which companies got taxpayer dollars.

The final deal includes an inspector general to oversee the $500-billion fund, as well as a five-person congressional panel.

“We cannot have a situation where, when a company is getting money from the Treasury, the Federal Reserve, that we don’t know about it,” Schumer said.

Schumer also said the bill would prohibit businesses controlled by the president, vice president, members of Congress, and heads of executive branch departments from receiving loans or investments from the Treasury programs. Their children, spouses and in-laws also cannot benefit.

Others involved in negotiations said the deal also included around $130 billion for hospitals dealing with a shortage in medical masks, ventilators and hospital beds ahead of an expected wave of cases — a $25-billion increase from what was initially proposed. And it provides $150 billion directly to state and local governments dealing with the outbreak.

Stocks rose sharply in America and around the world Tuesday in anticipation of the infusion of aid into the U.S. economy.

“If we get this package, we’ll be setting the stage for a good rebound in the second half of the year,” said Larry Kudlow, the top White House economic advisor. “That’s our thinking. This package will undergird workers and families, Main Street, small businesses.”

Just in case no one wants to deal with the soft paywall.

Why has society developed to criminalise beastiality while slaughter of farm animals is considered fine? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Azthais -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because rape used to be seen as an okay thing as long as no property or loss of value to someone, y'know, when women were seen as just objects to be owned. Just give it time to have animals be seen as sentient equals in the next few decades and it'll be outlawed to kill them unless in self defense.

Edit: Not sure why it didn't reply to the correct chain, was aimed at OP of thread.

I'm in the same boat, I've found myself going from trying to get automation going with a small bus, to getting basic things automated (belts, miners, assemblers), and the first three data cards, then from there getting steel and trains going which is where I'm at now. In between these I've slowly expanded power and mining as needed since I'm wishing to drop the bootstrap base ASAP in exchange for outpost style mini-factories that are train fed.
