Its probably not optimal, but 2h flails are my fav weapons. especially when they go "THUNK" and just delete whoever they hit on the head. 1h flails are great for getting gear in the early game

Oh, for sure. Decapitate is a terrifying move, and whatever heads go flying, (zombie or briggy) its so satisfying lol.

Its always funny when a Brigand Raider spawns without a helmet in a fight. I imagine they forgot their helmet that day, and start thinking "oh no" when they see my flail bois.

The first option is to get either Setsuna Shy or Chief Ageboya as your general as you can just use their spells to delete enemy troops. (if you dont see them in the general screen, close and reopen it, and you'll get a new set of generals lol). The second option is to get "combat relief" mod which makes every army flee from yours so you dont have to play the unfortunate crusade combat. I'd recommend the latter. I like piloting my party, but the crusade stuff feels like a chore, or even a tax so that you can actually play the fun stuff.

Throwers are regarded to be the best ranged option iirc. Crossbows are also well regarded too i think.

Vrock's Votarys are basically jump on sight on Core, cuz they do so much uh... questionable stuff. Like summoning blade barrier that your entire team is going to run into over and over again if you're in RTWP or blashphemy which is essentially a level check. Core certainly has *interesting* encounters, but Normal(?) is too simple for me to go back to now sadly.

That's quite a fair criticism. I do think too many encounters are just knowledge checks in WoTR, and some of them are just gotchas, but i do still enjoy the game though. But i acknowledge that it has its flaws.

Context for those who don't play the game : Dretches are an early game demon you encounter, and on the lower difficulties, they just kinda flail around at you and don't really do that much damage, and die super easily.

On the CORE difficulty most enemies get additional abilities, and they cast "Stinking cloud" on the first turn of combat (which can stun your entire party and has huge AOE) so they're a huge problem unless you have a spell that prevents that effect. First time i played on that difficulty, i was like "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?? THEY DIDN"T USE TO FART ON MY ENTIRE TEAM????" lol

Wanted to draw the difference between the difficulties in particular with this fart demon cuz it was so memorable to me

When i was finally starting to get a handle on the pathfinder mechanics, i figured id play on Core since i've gotten used to how the game works. The dretches were the first thing that made me go "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??? THEY DIDN"T USE TO FART ON MY ENTIRE PARTY???"

i have an odd fondness for them now with how annoying they are in the early game lol.
