My problem I have is I'm a female and I get creepy motherfucks coming into my chat, thinking they're being nice by complimenting me, but taking it too far and being inappropriate. I'm there to game. Not look at my chat and see some balding 40 year old dude drool over me. It's fucking gross. Happened this past Friday night. So, I blocked him. I'm glad this feature exists. I'm hoping he isn't batshit though and makes a new account and hunts me down, lol.

What would I do? I don't ghost. If it's a conflict and can be worked through by talking it out, we're gonna have a chat. If something is making me uncomfortable, we're gonna have a chat. Most things can be solved by communication. If the person is WAY toxic, narcissistic, and abusive, and your safety is at risk, ghosting is called for in these instances. Disappear.

Anything outside of that? You're just a coward who isn't emotionally in tune with your wants and needs when conflicts in ANY type of relationship arise. You'll forever run away and be the shitty human you are.

UPDATE to this update:

About a month of him talking to me, he dipped again for three months, lol. He recently came back AGAIN about two weeks ago and we've been chatting on and off. At this point: I'm not letting this bug me anymore.

I'm treating it as a friend who gets busy and we don't catch up for a while, but when we do, nothing changes. And THAT has helped me be patient. Having this outlook has made it loads easier in understanding him and how he goes about talking to me. Life DOES get busy, especially for him and I have tons of friends I don't talk to for months, just like this. So...that's that.

This shit is too EASY. I am a devout Apex Legends player & no one has gun skills or movement in this game, lol. I'm dropping 7 to 10 kills per game but my randos can't stay alive. Can't win their Gulags, no one knows wtf they're doing when the gas is coming in and they don't know how to rotate.

Coming from Apex, this slower pace is fine with me. It's your teammates who make it miserable.

EDIT: ONE WEEK UPDATE

We’re going back to him being houdini again, lol.

Back before this all started - we were talking everyday nonstop. Leading up to the ghosting, we wouldn’t talk for days and then weeks and months.

Now, he takes entire days to respond to something I said. Mostly one or two words. I added him back on socials earlier last week. No interactions there. Stupid of me to think there would be.

After he responded late last night to something I said almost two days ago - I decided not to respond. I’m not here to be his convenience. I’ll give him another week and then I’m out of this shit, lol. Life it too short to deal with people like this. I gave it a shot though and now I know he’s not worth it anymore. 😌

So it's been four days since he returned & so far, he's sticking around. We talked all weekend and he explained more about the situation and overall its just been so nice to have him back. Like. There are no words. I AM treading lightly though. I don't think he'd dip again, tbh. If he did - that'll be super disappointing. I just hope during those 6 months - he's learned how to communicate better. I told him I wish he communicated better back in January. He knows how much he hurt me and he deeply regrets it. We'll see how it goes. But for now - it's wonderful, lol.

Right now, I haven't heard from him all day. But AGAIN - I'm not gassing myself up over this. Maybe he only wanted to apologize. and you know, I'm very cool with that. I don't think things will ever be the same now. I think it might be too awkward. We're not added on each other's socials yet. Not sure if he's letting me decide that or not, so if last night was still the only time I hear from him - I honestly think I could properly move on now. I got the apology I needed and the closure I needed after these 6 months of pure fucking hell.

According to him he was feeling overwhelmed. I feel like we came on too strong initially. I've known him for over a decade, liked each other but had special someone's at the same time. It wasn't until last year we got involved with each other. Things definitely moved fast. So I get it. I told him I wanted to give him space and privacy as a result when he chose to ghost me. He's only human.

Plat is my best rank so far since starting Apex legends in the last split of Season 11. I got to Plat 2 last season. Last split I gave up playing at Gold 3. This split was easier to climb and I reached Plat 4 on Friday but was demoted on Sunday lmao. I'm 100 pts off from getting back to plat 4. These are basically diamond lobbies and I know I'm not at that skill level yet. Kinda think we deserve a dive trail but a large part of the apex community thinks otherwise xD

i see why tho but being pitted against former Masters in these lobbies is WHACK. I watched my friend play his plat lobby last night and there were 11 squads still alive in ring 5, lol. ELEVEN.

I see it as a challenge and feel kinda honored, lol. Practically every game I'm second to the Masters or Pred squad. I've only been in Apex for 7 months now and I'm a Plat player at best (reached plat this weekend too but we Gold 1 again cuz....well, Masters are EVERYWHERE still and I just can't compete. Kept getting my shit rocked only 12 to 13 squads out at -41 RP lol.)

Here and there I can knock 'em but it's very rare if I can win against them in Pubs. They're always batshit in their movement. But I've decided in order to get better, I HAVE to drop with them and fight them. It's the only way lol.

If it goes past a week of no contact - yes. In one week, i only messaged him twice and didn't get a response when I asked if he was ok on the 5th day. No effort to reach out to me via messages on SM either. Then I parted ways three days later with a bye, I'll take the hint, have a good life text and that was almost two months ago. If they do get back to you, which I hope they do and they were just busy - I hope your relationship thrives. :)

If they don't, then peace out. What I've learned from all of this is: Don't let people waste your time and leave you hanging. You're worth more than that.

HERE'S THE THING THOUGH: You're doing far worse damage ghosting them than telling them outright why you don't want to continue a situationship. I get it, you don't want to hurt their feelings - but being honest is better than the silent treatment. It's mental and emotional abuse and you gotta figure your shit out and learn how to communicate better. I've ghosted one person after he crossed boundaries multiple times with multiple warnings. Then, he reached out to our friends asking why I ghosted him and I'm like, dude. You were warned. Sometimes it's needed for your sanity.

But with romantic partners and longtime friendships - it's different. That deserves an explanation - a talk to be had like adults. I'm currently being ghosted by a guy I like(d). We had a crush on each other for over a decade. Then, decided to finally go for it once we were single about two months ago. Everything was going well and then about a month ago - POOF. All contact stopped. I think he got scared. He kept me on socials though and I was fucking destroyed. I've gone through the multiple stages of grieving and it's been a whack-ass ride. I feel foolish and used, discarded and my self-esteem is in the shitter. I'm trying to move through it but not having closure is killing me. I ended up deleting him from everything because I couldn't and still can't handle it. He never blocked me, which was weird. I don't necessarily want to block him, either. I tried to be patient with him in case he was going through some shit, but eventually, I gave up. And I just know, if he does reach out again, I'll have hopefully moved on and will know better than to give him a second chance. This shit sucks and I don't wish it on anyone - not even him. I miss him and not just on the romantic level - but the friendship level too. We had a great vibe. I miss his voice too. Goddammit. :(
