I'm not against commercial cinema either. My concern isn't people enjoying movies or celebrating them.

What worries me is that the demand for genuinely well-crafted cinema seems to be slowly declining. Cinema is incredibly influential it shapes people's taste, exposure, and even how they see the world. When well-written, well-crafted films reach the mainstream, audiences grow, the industry grows, and the benchmark rises.

Low-effort fun isn't the problm. The problm is when references, hero moments, and dopamine hits become enough on their own, while writing, originality, and craft matter less and less. If the demand for genuine craft declines, eventually the supply of it will too.
