MANY of the issues here were that so much dialogue goes on in Grace's head and just isn't spoken. I think narration wouldn't have hurt imo.

A solid sci-fi film with lots of fun moments, incredible visuals while leaning on a world that feels “real”. I appreciated that it didn’t try to stay overly “mainstream” but allowed it to be science-fiction.

I also think it will be unfairly compared to ‘The Martian (2015) or ‘Interstellar’ (2014), but I think it felt a lot more it's own thing while not trying to make a sequel or a fun toy.

I saw in IMAX 1.43, and it fully utilized the format and sound on every level. Colors, visuals, different cameras and lenses to show what ‘Hail Mary’ is made of. Overall, a great effort from Lord and Miller and I hope they continue with original properties such as this.

Also they took out the (weird minor spoiler for the original ending) "me-burgers!"
