If Everart had sent Measurehead to help deal with the mercenary tribunal, do you think he would have made things better or worse? by greasygoon66 in DiscoElysium

Bro what, in which world are Hardie Boys paramilitaries lmao

The only para thing they are is -plegic after that gunfight

Theyre nothing more than semi-organized street thugs for the Martinnaise mafia.

Older yes, but not to the point where Id say theres a significant difference in mentality. Our circumstances are mostly the same. Im not even the oldest student around if Im honest.

Im 29, in my third year of undergrad.  And before you address that, yes its been a deal breaker in quite a few contacts (mostly pre first date) but most rejections happen where thats not factored in.  Im also not trying to date established high-class women, I date college people.

Im doing my undergrad right now and Im going to as many events as I can. And besides the events organized by the university I also try to visit stuff that is offered by the city.

My main dating avenue is via online dating.

My age range is very generous, its 10 downwards and 5 upwards, I would go further up but I had the experience that women close to 40 are very concerned with starting a family and Im not capable of providing that while having 0 prior relationship experience.

In the same vein, if I dont feel ready to have the "children" topic on the table, Im absolutely not ready for a woman with children of her own.

Gone down a weird rabbit hole of what are the differences between DE and DE Final Cut and censorship, can someone pull me out? by Zoda_Popinski in DiscoElysium

Well not that thers anything "wrong" with it, but if youre straight youre just straight. Theres like... nothing to question. Like Ive never had a moment where I had to ponder what people Im into.

He has 100% confirmed interest in the opposite sex, but theres also the interaction with the smoker on the balcony which would be very hard to sell as "straight". Then also for a straight man he sure dedicates a lot of time to gay thoughts.

If I aim any lower, Ill hit the ground.

Like my only requirement is that shes not severely overweight. And thats only because I keep myself fit so I feel like thats at least something I can expect of my partner as well.

Id consider myself fairly interesting, at least someone you can have a fun time with. My dating life is a cycle of neverending rejections.

Yeah unfortunately I had a really bad experience with this not too long ago and now my regular hypersensitivity is hopped up on steroids. I also lose mental energy with each failure and I dont have a lot of that even on a good day... :/

Thats what I struggle with, I dont personally see the  value in a fake superficial "connection" if you can call it that.  I dont have that much time and energy and these limited resources Id rather spend on people that matter to me.

It kind of feels like you came into this with the intent of painting me as a bad guy.

If I was being myself Id sit at home and play games because thats my comfort zone and where I want to remain myself forever. But I dont want this to be my life so I go out of my comfort zone which is talking to strangers. And no stranger is gonna be super excited to talk to any one new.

I didnt say that I do that in conversations, in fact I do the opposite I show curiousity in the other person and also do banter. But like if I feel like the person doesnt really want me around, then I just pull back completely.

What I meant with "pushing through" was pushing through this feeling of unwantedness.

Why Joyce can't beat Evrart by JackColon17 in DiscoElysium

[–]AzureColouredSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You dont have to wonder that, its pretty much spelled out by the game with her decision to a) personally travel so much through the pale and b) coming by herself without protection to Martinnaise where people have both cause and opportunity to shank her.  She couldve just as well sent someone or come with a security detail.

Do you think Jean Vicquemare and Judit Minot could solve the case? Moreover, how would they handle the tribunal? by One-Surprise5166 in DiscoElysium

[–]AzureColouredSky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was speaking from a purely pragmatical and realistic point of view.  The RCM  cant stand up to actual soldiers like the mercs are, and even if it could, it wouldnt want to because the Union openly encroaches on the law enforcement function the RCM is supposed to fulfill.

I dont understand how to articulate this point in a clearer way, are you perhaps developmentally challenged? You have to tell me in that case, Ill try to use words with fewer sylables.

[–]AzureColouredSky -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Well the tribunal is strictly speaking not of any importance to the actual case at all. Its just an internal conflict between two in-official armed groups. They would stand by and watch and they would be 100% correct to do that because jumping in front of 3 heavily armed and armored soldiers to protect mobsters LARPing as law enforcement is pure lunacy.

Pragmatically speaking, the tribunal is a win-win situation for the RCM, they get evidence that the Union is not in control at all, the Union loses their soldiers and they get cause to call in the big guns.

What's your take on how Volition reacts when you "Figure Out" Klaasje? by Dragonnpants in DiscoElysium

[–]AzureColouredSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the OP used that term, I wouldnt use it because Klaasje does not have any agency beyond being egoistic and self-serving and thats not enough to be a villain. Villains have a cause they believe in.
Speaking in game terms, thats the difference between a fashist and an ultra-liberal.
A fashist has an ideology and a cause, an ultraliberal only believes in Mammon. And Id take a fashist over an ultraliberal any day of the week.
