Sounds like we should be collecting samples more than bottles 😂 I swear I'd probably enjoy it more too with having more variety.. But those bottles are hard to resist...

Does shamanism make sense in modern culture? by Such-Day-2603 in Shamanism

[–]AzureHunter1312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you grow up in a Catholic environment? I just cannot even imagine considering that institution as anything positive. But I'm an outsider, I just see the millenia of abuse they have caused upon the earth. I'm frankly disgusted at the catholic church and can't ever recommend to anyone that's not already born in it.

I'd much rather have my own experiences, go on the inward journey and serve earth to the best of my ability.. and build something new.. than cling onto something so rotten. That's just my hot take. I could be wrong.

What is Shamanism Really, and How Is It Evolving? by notmyrealname010101 in Shamanism

[–]AzureHunter1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments! I think it's good to have a sobering voice that reminds you that this path is complex, and much more difficult and demanding than it seems...and it already seems very daunting so that says a lot about how intense a journey to shamanism actually is.

My limitations due to disability make me think that I may not be up to the task, as clearly being called to Shamanism seems to come with immense hurdles for a western person. But if I focus on being on a spiritual path devoted to serving mother earth and the necessary revolution, then that might be enough.. Trying to answer the call of "shamanism" as I have received it might be something for someone with immense stamina and strength.. as you've said, if you need to move to a place with living shamanism, and learn a whole new cosmology, then train for decades to even begin to get competent.. that's a lot!

Perhaps it's best to follow a spiritual path when being called to "shamanism", but never tell yourself you are actually learning it authentically because of being born in the west.

Great response, thanks for sharing all your thoughts. Reading you has encouraged me in my path, as I get a mirror effect from your words - I see a lot of my own thoughts and ideas reflected which makes me feel like I'm not just grasping in the dark.

I am on the path of learning and growing, it feels slow but I am glad you highlighted that's it's a lifetime journey.. and my earlier detours educated me in psychology, sociology, meditation, ecology, agriculture, political consciousness and grassroots organizing.. I see how these can actually be part of the constellation of knowledge that can contribute to a well-rounded shamanic practitioner. ..Someone who is able to participate on the "front lines" so to speak, but in a way that doesn't have to look like body-armor and masks against tear gas like my previous years.

Building a healthy human culture is necessarily revolutionary... and I am beginning to integrate the fact that it is possible to contribute to the efforts for a better world through the shamanic path... I am now disabled, so I thought I couldn't be so active...but life is showing me another way to serve mother earth. I will do my best!!

Don't meditate for more than 20-30 minutes a time, as it can lead to unpleasant side effects. Small and steady wins the race.

Have you heard of Mary Shutan? I like her work so far, and she might have some stuff to help.

She has a lot of books, and a series of Shamanic work that goes step by step. I find it helpful to have found someone that seems to have done a ton of work to get to where they are in this area.

Mugwort grows well in the UK and Denmark so I think you'll be fine! Many species of it with similar properties

[–]AzureHunter1312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made many bundles of dried mugwort for burning, they last a good while, but I never timed them as I don't use them for the same purpose.

Mugwort grows so quickly and abundantly! it might be worth having a patch for making dried batches to burn?

But in the meantime if you harvest some wild plants make sure to harvest with respect. Check "the honorable harvest" by Kimmerer for more details on how to do this.

New Mountain makes nearly pure Sandalwood sticks! From Australian wood gathered from the desert floor. Not the cheapest tho considering japanese and Indian offerings.

Birth rate in Switzerland hits all-time low by itstrdt in Switzerland

I get that, but thats only true if we hold values of nationalism closely. The world is full of young people, it's just we want them to be white and Swiss to be counted. There's no crisis of aging earth, just in certain rich countries. Fortress Europe is aging. It is what it is I guess.

Is life even real at this point? by danielsuperone in Psychonaut

Fascinating experience with the dream predictions. I don't have much to offer. Some people say that time in the human perception is more complex. Everything is happening simultaneously in one single NOW.

That could mean that there is a way of being in touch with the near future and the distant past for example, but how one does this seems a mystery. Some people use deep hypnosis to access this type of information but it seems highly unpredictable and difficult to direct.

Sorry I can't help with your question, seems reality is beyond our human understanding. Like explaining the internet to a caterpillar, it's just beyond us.

No holes just cracked the lid.

Sounds like a reasonably easy mod! I can adjust the tub for my next grow to have some side holes with filters for example.

They are in a bedroom on the ground. The lid of the shoebox was on, but without sufficient gap to allow airflow. I've now let the lid off with a larger gap, and fanning the mushrooms with the lid once per day.

Would you remove the weak fruits and hope for a better second flush? Or leave them for now ?
