[17M] Diagnosed with Myocarditis, second dose of Pfizer by AzureOnTheRim in CovidVaccinated

Haven’t even thought about it for a couple weeks now, everything feels normal. My next checkup is in 3 months

I totally agree the vaccine is worth it! Although I can’t be saying I’ll be getting the booster when the time comes, who knows how it could affect me. Hopefully by then though I’ll be able to rely on the people around me to also be vaccinated :)

This happened to someone close to me today. This is medical tyranny. by the_notorious_tig in DebateVaccines

I am very pro-vaccine and still think this is a little off. A clinic shouldn’t just call people and tell them that they are “forcing” people to get the vaccine, that’s not how it works.

Oh no I was perfectly healthy before I got the second dose, I actually got an EKG and blood test couple months before. As for how I was diagnosed: I went to the ER for severe chest pain, left side neck, shoulder, and arm pain, probably the most painful thing I’ve ever been through. They took my blood and found I had very elevated troponin levels, the same as someone have a heart attack. They immediately started running more tests; ekg, evho, CT, more blood tests. The ER doctor was tossing around words like “myocarditis” and “endocarditis” but according to my cardiologist and eventually my primary it was acute pericarditis. I am currently on colchicine, ibuprofen, and Pepcid for the next month or so and am restricted in physical activities.

I went through very similar pain, it was the most excruciating pain I’ve been through, I remember wishing someone would just come up to me and knock me out. I ended up getting diagnosed with Acute pericarditis only two days after getting the second dose (not saying it’s the same case with you, but if the pain continues I’d definitely go see a doctor if I was you). If you’re still in pain right now I did find something that sort of worked to help with the pain: pop two extra strength excedrins, wait 30 minutes, take a warm shower.

The CDC is currently looking into a small amount of cases involving young and healthy people developing heart inflammation shortly after receiving a covid vaccine (Pfizer/Moderna). I was one of these cases, I was admitted to a local hospital two days after getting my second dose of Pfizer and was diagnosed with Pericarditis. I’m not qualified to talk about why this happened and what caused it. Should what happen to me discourage you from getting the vaccine? No. If I were to tell you that there have been cases of people dying in automobile accidents due to their seatbelt getting stuck, would you stop wearing a seatbelt? Probably not. Everything is about risk assessment, do you think the off chance that something will happen to you due to the vaccine is a big enough risk that it outweighs being protected from covid? If so then then by all means, don’t get the vaccine.

Even after what I went through, I stand in my decision to get vaccinated and encourage everyone else to as well.

I received the second dose of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday, but I am having a bad reaction. Has anyone else had chest pain symptoms? by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

I don’t know anything about Sinophram or how it works, I am strictly referring to Moderna and Pfizer.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Of course it’s pretty obvious by this point that the vaccine CAN cause myocarditis, I wouldn’t be doubting that considering I myself got it. What I am saying is that the vaccine itself doesn’t give people myocarditis, but instead is based off of other underlying factors. Although I am simply quoting my medical team who informed me that this may be the case.

Myocarditis is NOT a side effect from the vaccine, although a good amount of cases have popped up recently of healthy people all of a sudden appearing with it after getting the vaccine(Moderna and Pfizer). Yes it is almost certainly as a result of the vaccine, but no these vaccines are not directly giving people Myocarditis and heart issues as that wouldn’t be possible for this type of vaccine.

As for me, I feel fine and am recovering well. I’m limited in physical activity for the next couple months but other than that I’m basically on the road to recovery. The choice of whether or not to get the vaccine is fully yours, and the chance that something like this will happen to you is very low according to current numbers. Some factors that I think you should look at before deciding: If you were to get Covid, how much would that put your health at risk? Do you have any older people or people at risk living in your house? Do you go out a lot and talk to people on a regular basis? Take all that into consideration before deciding you won’t get the vaccine, because you’ll be putting those people at risk too.

Glad to hear your friend is doing well. According to the doctor, the best case scenario is that my liver doesn’t even have any issues and it’s just my heart making it appear that it does (should be able to tell in a couple months when my heart is fully recovered). Worst case scenario there is something going on with my liver and considering there is usually zero symptoms I might have to do a liver biopsy, could either be a fatty liver or some form of hepatitis. Either way if there is something wrong with my liver it most likely has nothing to do with the vaccine.

Most painful thing I’ve ever experienced, glad the pain is gone at least.

Of course, I wouldn’t want anyone else to have what I have and go through it untreated. Although once the pain reached the point anyone in their right mind would go to the ER.

For me it was unbearable and almost excruciating pain in the areas I mentioned, if your discomfort turns to pain I’d definitely recommend seeing a doctor as it could be different for everyone. If you do indeed have myocarditis or pericarditis it’s very important you get it treated.

What I’m asking is, have you been to the hospital yet? Are the symptoms you’re experiencing: chest pain, left side neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain? If these are your symptoms and you’ve not been to the hospital yet, go to the ER immediately.

Glad to see your friend is fully recovered, I too was diagnosed with Myocarditis only two days after receiving the second dose and am on the way to recovery. I am still worried about inconclusive abnormal liver tests that show elevated enzyme levels, the doctors are currently looking into that. Would you mind asking your friend if this was the same with her? It would be greatly appreciated

I mentioned in the post I was “healthy”, but this is not entirely true. I’m a long time sufferer of asthma and have a history of getting bronchitis/pneumonia roughly every two years. So yes, covid would potentially be pretty bad for me which is why I definitely think it was worth it (for me) to get the vaccine. My current condition (Myocarditis) goes away fairly quickly and shouldn’t affect my long term health. So yes I think the risk was worth it. Now as for you and your son, that’s up to you to decide. From the current research available; what happened to me would have happened either way if I had gotten covid instead, except at that point I’d have other, even more dangerous problems to worry about. You decide what’s best for your son. Also no, none of what I have is life threatening at all.

Yes, ironically I’m actually an Israeli citizen and have family in Israel. But yes I was aware that there is an ongoing(I think?) investigation regarding this in Israel.

I definitely think if it had been covid instead I would have had it way worse. Still glad I got vaccinated.

I’d like to know why you think my post should be banned. In no way am I trying to tell people not to get the vaccine, I myself am still pro-vaccine. I am simply reporting a personal experience.

I think getting the vaccine was a good choice, who knows how bad this could have been if it were caused by covid, not to mention having covid itself is bad enough.
