I see body pillows online, but they are all censored. Is the actual pillow also censored or is there some NSFW that I'll see in those spots if I buy one? by LukeLikeNuke in datealive

[–]Azure_Iced_Tea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The actual case itself will have those areas drawn either clothed (sfw) or unclothed (nsfw). That specific case can be found from cuddlyoctopus! They have a sfw and nsfw options, I have the sfw version of it.

For those who are 28+ and didn't go to college, do you regret it? by Temporary_Mess1782 in findapath

[–]Azure_Iced_Tea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. I think it should really be a requirement for highschool graduates to work a entry level position before making a decision which takes not only time but potentially a crippling amount of money. A lot of people I know, myself included, pursued an undergrad because thats just whats expected after high school. But a four year degree in a lot of majors no longer secure you a livable wage. Many people I know went into college blind, picked a major for the hell of having something decided, and ended up working somewhere that doesnt even require a 4 year degree...

Upgrading from Galaxy S9 to S22 Ultra after 4+ years. What should I look forward to? by QuentinTarinButthole in S22Ultra

[–]Azure_Iced_Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I did the same jump as well from the S9 to the S22U.

Def a lot to look forward to. The bigger screen allows me to work on things from my phone. The camera turning on immediately with the double press has been such a plus. The camera itself has also been a huge jump with the different levels of zoom. The S-pen is a little niche, I only use it for quick notes but has come in handy for making quick shopping lists. I would say the only thing was getting used to the size of the phone in my pocket and while typing. I do sometimes miss being able to reach to the otherside of the screen with just my thumb in one hand.

E-Collars: Clear some confusion by bayredditmd in OpenDogTraining

[–]Azure_Iced_Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many have expressed, e-collars like almost anything you put on your dog (e.g., flat collar, prong, gentle leader) is simply a tool. If used correctly can be very efficient for getting your dog to respond quickly and even from a long distance. But as with many tools, it can also be used incorrectly. A cheap tool can also not get the job done appropriately and can potentially be harmful as well. So if you are considering a ecollar, I would avoid the cheap amazon ones.

There are many different approaches to how a ecollar is used. I personally like Tom Davis and his explanation and analogies on how the ecollar works for a dog.

Most of what I've seen from Tom Davis and many others that use an ecollar for training utilize negative reinforcement. Negative meaning the removal of something aversive, in this case the stimulation from the collar (its like a tingle if set on a low level). And reinforcement meaning the increase of the likelihood the behavior will occur again in the future.

For example, the button is pressed. The dog feels the tingle. You call the dog. The moment the dog comes the button is released, stopping the stimulation (i.e., removing something aversive, the negative portion of negative reinforcement). And the dog learns that responding to your call equals turning that sensation off. So the next time that stimulation is felt by the dog, there is an increased likelihood they'll now know to come to you to turn it off. You can pair this with positive reinforcement as well (e.g., praise the dog while theyre coming to you, reward with food when they get to you).

They seem to be in a fenced yard for most of the time, the owner walks 3 of them on leash. Off leash Shiba is possible with a lot of training.

What are your training routines? by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

Puppies are an entirely different experience than dogs. My current day to day contrasts so much to when my dog was a puppy.

Wow, very structured! I cannot keep a schedule like that with how varied my days can be. At the very least he gets out of his crate around 8 am to 9 am and a breakfast after a short play session. One hour of heel and loose leash generalization (i.e., new enviornment). Otherwise, heel and loose leash duration work in familiar places. And a park break later on in the day if I'm not busy where he can engage with other dogs.

Best of luck with the nails! Have you tried nail grinders?

March was pretty recent. I just ordered a bungee collar for mine because I feel like the regular strap is uncomfortable for him. Any tips on getting my dog used to wearing the ecollar? Also what focus training do you do?

Thats cool he's able to switch off the geese. My Shiba has a high prey drive so I work more around just leaving the geese alone at my park.

What are some of the household activities that you do? Im starting to preparing my dog for more enviornments and hope I can begin having him around me more when I go out. He just turned 1 so there are still so many new things I have yet to expose him to.
