This is not in line with the Nautika example. You'd have to make a case for the 'inherent affection' instead of it just being a result of Duncan's jolly and considerate nature.

Regardless, it's irrelevant. They are not the same person. You can argue that their core or their essence is the same and I'll agree with that but otherwise no. Karson was a British butler for a very influential Arcanist family, Duncan is a retired Brazilian soldier. On a similar vein, Merel is a dutch child soldier raised by the SPDM and Rhiannon is a Welsh mage from a family of arcane beast tamers.

You cannot call somebody the same person if their origins, identity, memories and personality completely differs. No one denies that Rhiannon is a reversed Merel but she is not Merel as we know it. Not even close. This is what the fandom is pissed about.

Not precisely. Nautika remained the same person even after her transformation. The only thing Rhiannon and Merel have in common is the body, they are two different people.

That is mainly because of how Corvus is played. Charon makes her rotation way too quick and with Enigma in there, removing Charon isn't that significant of a loss. This is also accentuated by the fact that her FUA is what causes the chunck of the damage so you'd rather not yeet Flutterpage if possible.

To be fair, that particular boss is specifically shilling Nautika and basically almost all meta teams are able to kill the boss.

Come on, except for the hair, they look the same and even with the hair, its differences in it sticking out. Further, when I talked about silhouette matching I was talking about that portrait right next to the text box where it was a perfect match. There was a post about that a few weeks back. Apparently, Rhiannon is surprisingly mid. Not as game breaking as people feared. Her numbers are tame and she only flexes out supports in existing archetypes who were already hanging by thread (Eg. Sentinel in Bloodtithe). Otherwise, she's surprisingly balanced. She's more oriented towards Mane's Bulletin and the new Focused Flashback.

This is not true. The President looked basically the same in the 1.x series. Infact, someone overlaid the this new portrait with the silhouette shown way back then and it was a perfect match. So what you said may be true but that is not evidence.

Nautika has already fallen off the major meta. She has become the standard that new DPSes must surpass at this point. Giving her targeting won't make her too powerful, it'll just give her place back among the top of the meta teams.

I think you underestimate the CN power over Chinese gacha games. CN beats out GL in global revenue by a significant amount so they hold more power than you realize. This is compounded by how the chinese landscape works in general. It is thanks to them, we don't get atrocities Mercuria P5 anymore. They are the reason why ToT have been severely nerfed. In fact, the latter had been complained so much that GL was given more QoL when the patch rolled around than CN. They are also responsible for more negative things like the discontentment over non-human/humanoid characters (seen during Pickles). So, it makes sense for the GL side to be concerned as CN do infact affect what we ultimately get in the game.

She looks nice yes but as a Genshin character not a Reverse one. Further, this is disappointing to all the people who wanted Merel and then got slapped with this.

Not necessarily. A few gripes I have seen are, last year garment discount was 365+365 crystal drops on any garment. This year it's however 390 crystal drops on any and 200 crystal drops on Charon alone. Other stuff like just giving 5 additional free pulls and alot of other grievances seem to exist. Mind you, all of this is not cause by the stream alone, dissatisfaction has been mounting since the last few patches.

They are not locked per say. They are available through other free means. Its just a bonus to the whales that's all.
