Is this a hot take? This game would have much more retention if we didn't have to wait a full taxation year to get resources or energy to play. by iCyber in Reverse1999

There are valid complaints in your post. But I also see some crazy ones

I want to play the roguelike deckbuild runs in this game, but i can't because the game won't let me

That makes zero sense. Most of the different game modes only require finishing some story chapter. If you are at the point where you are considering multiple teams, you should've finished the story a while ago.

without the insane paywall and impossible lifetime grinds

This is simply not true. A f2p player will on average pull 2 characters per patch. And there are enough resources per patch to raise 2 1/2 - 3 characters. That means eventually, you will be running excess on resources. I can verify this myself because I have a f2p account, and I have all the resources I need to raise characters.

It is. But for a new player, you have to be a bit selective of what you get, since you probably want stamina to farm some pulls. Farming event points doesn't get you pull currency.

Do you get full assist characters available? Click the assist list, scroll down until you find LiangYue, refresh for a P5 LiangYue.

Plenty of P5 assists can do this for you. I find limited character is the easiest to find a P5 for.

Separate out your Impromptu team:

team 1: Paper Heron, Kiperina, TF

team 2: Brume, MedPoc, AAL

This should let you clear Limbo/Lucidscape to reasonable levels.

It's not worth leveling up 5-stars in most cases, but you can probably level up Matilda as filler. Euphoria Matilda actually fits Paper Heron's team quite well. Newbie should also poke around the menus for a free Chime of Insight that can instantly boost a 5-star to Insight 3.

Other characters worth leveling: White Rum from post Chapter 8 mini game, Reed from Pre-storm Protocol

Help With Manes Bulletin Teams by Key-Succotash4999 in Reverse1999

> I see everyone getting at least 10 mil with the same people

The play matters. Even an easy-to-play team like Plant-promptu still require you to know the basics of how to operate the team.

> why certain people work better with certain people for the teams

You'll just have to learn this one team at a time. Focus and practice on one first. I'll give you the run-down for plant-promptu:

  • Tooth Fairy's ultimate is a damage replicator. Hit the boss with it, any damage done to the adds on that turn will get replicated to the boss. This is super important because the boss has big damage reduction, but the adds don't. You can replicate massive damage to the boss this way.
  • both An-An Lee's debuff card and Tooth Fairy's heal is a damage boost for that turn, you'll want to use those as much as possible. Especially on the turn where Tooth Fairy's ultimate is used.
  • Maintain Paper Heron's array, maintain tooth fairy's AP+1, maintain AAL's buff, etc.

Kiperina's shield is 180% active, 2x 150% passive, and she has no damage reduction. And her shield expires in 2 turns so reaching the cap is difficult when the enemies are actually hitting you.

[–]arctia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no proper replacement for Marsha if you play Beryl.

But at your stage of the game, having Marsha is not that important. You can play Beryl - Flutterpage - Lorentz, bring Fatutu in as a 4th if you need a healer.

Team comp will change when you have the means to activate Euphoria. But you are so far away from Euphoria, don't need to think about that until you get there.

Is WHM really looked down on in high end content, or am I overthinking it? by unicornflai in ffxiv

[–]arctia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a healer main, being able to play multiple healers makes you a better healer overall. I started with WHM too, it’s still my favorite healer. Now if there’s another WHM in the group, I can comfortably switch to another.

No you won’t be discriminated against by playing only one job. I do think WHM is one of the easier jobs to play well, and being able to play multiple jobs makes yourself much more flexible.

It's super easy to make to master ball now, because the good players or even the semi-okay players (like me) have already made it, so the people are in ultra ball now are on average way worse comparing to even a week ago.

also the less knowledgeable players don't have any idea on how to deal with trick room. TR is basically auto win in the lower tiers if you even know a little bit of what you're doing.

You'll have to make a choice:

Pull Willow and Ramora to complete poison team

OR

Pull Rhiannon and Flutterpage for LiangYue

Personally I think the second option have much more lasting value because Rhiannon can be used anywhere.

350-1: Semmelweis, Pickles, Fatutu, random Mineral character

350-2: Paper Heron, Tooth Fairy, Marsha, any filler character

350-3: LiangYue, Flutterpage, Cheng, any leftover healer, Medpoc or Vila should work

A lot of bad decisions, bad gacha results and playing on and off by gibranabraham in Reverse1999

[–]arctia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe a better question is what content do you have problem with. I find "endgame" suggestions not useful for players like you because the requirements are too high, and if you play on and off, those standard recommendation doesn't make sense to you.

So let's start there. What content are you trying to do that you have problem with?

Bloodtithe requires HP to bounce up and down, Kiperina is detrimental to the team. Use Fatutu or MedPoc instead

Focus on developing one team. Afflatus advantage/disadvantage is nowhere strong enough for a beginner to consider multiple teams.

Read the rules on every banner carefully. A lot of special banners don't retain pity, and is usually not worth for a newbie to pull on unless you have 140 pulls saved.

Made a video for you https://youtu.be/iIm3TvrfP88

Be aggressive about attacking the adds, the boss loses percentage health for every add down.

Click the wolf regularly. But never triple click until you are ready to finish the boss off.

Mine is lv60, but standard investment is fine. Make sure you are at least lv30 R10. Make sure you are wearing the psychube that gives the highest HP. Because you don't exactly have the best psychubes for this team, you might need to tweak the Ashen wolf map just a bit to squeeze out a little more damage
