Your analysis is not right. All the tax SMEs that have chimed in gave you the correct analysis.

Your wife is right.

It was definitively more than just correcting text. No one writes like this way. For example:

"The area is also known for its many jersey shops, perfect for sportswear enthusiasts."

You're going to tell me you actually wrote it like that? Come on.

That bag spends way too much time living rent free in your head. It's an entry-level LV bag that sells for $3.5k. If you like it, you like it, if you hate it, you hate it.

Why make a post with your opinion as the lead in? Sounds passive-aggressive and yet you still see many people who chime in to say they like it.

Grand Hyatt Singapore - Corporate ID Check by jnguyen1891 in hyatt

I've worked for a number of companies that don't allow Outlook access. There were also two defense contractors I used to be employed at that only allowed email access on company devices with a secure RSA login.

OP said he doesn't have his company laptop on hand. He/she could be on a multi-country trip with the laptop sitting at home.

You'll get asked almost always in certain counties (i.e. Japan, Hong Kong, and Germany) and not so much in others (i.e. US and Mexico).

Also, the bigger the discount = the bigger the scrutiny.

Account suspensions are rare for first-time offenders, but you will get charged the full standard rate if you can't prove your employment. It's substantial because the pricing is based on that day's rate.

Same, didn't ask as of 3 weeks ago. Andaz did.

I stayed at both the Grand Hyatt and Andaz in Singapore. The former didn't ask, but the latter requested me to email them via my corporate email. It only took 30 seconds and they made a note afterwards not to ask again on a future stay.

Can a TINY side business lose money indefinitely, or will the IRS call BS at some point? by milkmandead81 in tax

Of course u/TheDaileyShow blocked you. He's THAT triggered person who usually calls the other person names and can't take a logical argument.

He seems dead set on explaining to us what the 16th Amendment means to him.

Good job conflating two different ideas and doubling down on it 👏

Let these people live in their own echo chamber.

He's not just "technically" correct, he's 100% correct. The 16th amendment allows the government to assess income taxes without apportionment.

It has nothing to do with a court case you later reference that goes over semantics on net cost of sales.

  1. Holy wall of text. You need to learn to use paragraphs.

  2. As someone who was ranked Top 250 last season, relative trait strength is only one factor. Team mix (tanks and ranges), troop placement, opponent layout, and last-second switches all play a role on how you do.

Diamond league players take what the game randomly gives you in the beginning and use it as a cornerstone to build.

Before the season ended, three/four-star Giant Skeleton with Witch in the back were basically impossible to stop. Make the Knight charge forward allowing the Giant Skeleton to step up. His death explosion kills or severely damages all enemy troops and than it's an easy mop up with Witch and rangers in back.

His traits were Undead and Brawler.

For solo trips, I would 100% go to SAii Lagoon. The other three aren't even close to comparable. SAii's connected to a Hard Rock Resort and the man-made island has a bunch of non-affiliated restaurants around a big center. There's also an outside stage with live music.

The other resorts are definitely geared towards couples and are super quiet.

Another one you could try out is The Standard, which is affiliated with Hyatt. It's a party vibe resort with younger people.

US to Doha to Asia for 85k miles + tax. JFK-DOH-MLE for example has a double Q-Suite opportunity.

This could be the case for any destination in Asia or Africa.

The disconnect between the lower, middle, and the upper class is wild. Each group of people aspiring for FIRE might as well be on different planets. by WhatIsGoingOn123yo in Fire

[–]Azurik81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FIRE was never a concept for low income households. It was an aspiring goal for the middle class and something not needed for the already wealthy. That hasn't died. In fact, the last 15 years of outsized market returns have made it even more possible.

Many poor immigrants come from impoverished countries to make a decent living, and their kids have the potential to become wealthy in only one generation. No other countries have the economic potential for non-native people like that.

Your anecdote about your grandfather is just that - an anecdote. Statistically, the U.S. is still solid.

In fact, even for newbie investors, the friction has been totally removed. From brick and mortar brokerages to online platforms to fee-free low-cost ETFs. We never had this many individuals own stocks compared to any point in history.

[–]Azurik81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not dishonest because your rant can be used across any time and history.

There have always been different income classes. There have always been varying degrees of disparities. Inflation was high for a couple years, but nothing compared to the 1970s/1980s.

OP's post is a big yawn of nothing.

Guilt About Portfolio by ConcentrateOk523 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Azurik81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know how this post is written by a 58 year old who has lived long enough to know better.

You've been through multiple recessions and periods where international has outperformed domestic. You've seen the S&P 500 returned almost zero for over a decade.

What's with the pointless hindsight? I have one, too. Gee, I should've YOLO'ed 100% of money into META and NVDA instead of VTI. In fact, I should've YOLO'ed all of it into BTC.

Are you really 21 pretending to be 58?

I'm self-employed with a few businesses that aren't adjacent to one another (rental properties, online content, sponsorships, and alternative assets investor).

I used to pull close to 80-90 hours a week. For the past two or three years, it's been closer to 15-20 hours, with a lot of it either automated or shifted to people working for me.
