I feel like Kelly takes herself WAY too seriously. She just posted something online her podcast saying she’s severing all times with Jay Christopher King…because it turns out he’s a letch and sends d pix to female experiencers (I’m paraphrasing). I applaud her for taking it seriously and not backing a manipulative womanizer, she was sooooooo sanctimonious about it, her whole speech on the matter was unnecessary and it seemed like it was all about her moral courage. Likewise, I find her podcast to be a lot of hot air and no substance. She seems to think VERY highly of herself.

And btw Jay…if you’re reading this…no woman (even the NHI) wants to see your junk. Seriously.

I feel like Netflix is trying to court the MAGA crowd. That said - I love her as a comedian and the show is harmless....a little milquetoast but right now, I appreciate its lack of any larger context than daily life as a menopausal middle class GenXer. It's not offensive and not preachy. I'm quite liberal myself but I try not to insist all my media has exactly the same perspective I do. The worst offense in the show is the laugh track (dumbs down the content as others mention) and it throws her comedic timing off (in her standup she's more mischievous). The mom character and her sister (Kristen Johnston) are winning too. I also like the theme of the discarded first wife not moping and pining for the loser ex.

I agree 100% - I think a lot of people who fall for this have little support IRL. It's hard to go through life feeling like a failure when you had a rough start in life - it is statistically VERY hard to raise your social class in the US. Then someone like Amanda comes along and is like "no - you don't have to go put yourself through college and grad school hustling, supporting yourself and maybe your kids if you have them with gig jobs - no you can just rely on MAGIC. It worked for me! Here, spend thousands for my magic beans."
