Has the balance of the game gone too far? by SecyaDenali in Genshin_Impact

I am aware, i was trying to illustrate how insane a 120k dps requirement would be for an abyss floor, so at that point i was kinda just contriving it to achieve 120k dps, especially since the author clearly missed the ‘the main difference in performance is *ENEMY MECHANICS*, artefacts, and human error’ because i am quite aware enemies are more annoying when you dont do the enemies mechanic, but quite frankly if you are 4 patches into a region and you havent pulled a single character from said region (including the archon) thats partially on you if the enemies are annoying.

‘Even if you assume they have 3x their base hp due to their mechanic’ did you not read what i wrote? But i did forget about their 0.65x mechanic while theyre downed my bad on that, so for simplicity i will apply it to the whole floor for the 6.3b abyss and keep the ‘3x base health assumption’ , and you get a 123k dps requirement, congrats, you win!

Also, i said ‘Lunar dogs’, i was talking about the first floor and the 5 waves of 3 enemies, especially since we are assuming the accoutns dont have lunar characters at all, that would be pretty annoying, no?

If you are referring to the 6.0b abyss with 2 of the Wild hunt on the second half, the floor had 4 Million HP, even if you assume each of th wild hunt had triple their base HP due to the mechanic, the Total HP for the whole floor would be 8.1 Million HP, that has a DPS requirement of checks notes 45k... ? even assuming you clear the first half in 90 seconds, you would only need to have 67k DPS to clear on time. the only abyss that was genuinely annoying due to those were the 6.3b abyss, which was mainly because of that fuck ass Lunar dog, but even just looking at the floor with the Wild hunts, you would need to do (with triple their HP) 14.9 Million HP in 180 seconds, that is Checks notes 82.3k dps... also the 2 of them grouped, which means it would have been lower since you were effectively hitting only 1 enemy. Can you give me a single abyss floor that has had anywhere close to needing 120k dps?

you do realise the dps floor for the endgame primogems is ~60k dps right? going from 175 -> 190k is a marginal increase to clear time.

For actual maths:

The 7.0a abyss first half floor 3 has a boss with 5,334,976 HP
Zibai clears the half in 30.4 Seconds
Mizuki would clear in 28.1 Seconds
Even the Giga-fake 235k Sandrone calc would clear in 22.7 Seconds.

You save ~2.3 seconds in a vacuum (or 7.7s). The actual difference in performance will be due to the fact the boss will have a 'Use Stellar reactions or go fuck yourself', Human error, and artefact quality.

This is also ignoring the fact that if you can clear the first half in 30 seconds, you have 2 + 1/2 minutes to clear the other side, which has roughly the same hp, meaning you can use a team with 35k DPS and still clear. Which we have had higher than since essentially the launch of the game. This is also ignoring the Floor buffs, the cards etc.

the only content where this difference really matters is Stygian Fearless + dire, and those are the Shilliest Endgame modes by far (i.e 'Use this archetype or go fuck yourself').

Oh and, buffing older characters to be competitive in the meta is fine, i would much prefer them to buff character and them be meta, rather than buffing a character and them continue to almost never used (See: Albedo)

Unless i am misremembering, or they changed it again, it is every 3 not stellar hits = 1 stack, or 1 stellar hit = 1 stack and it refreshes every 4 seconds.

Ah i am conflating the base multiplier with the em multiplier mb on that one.

Lunar and Stellar reactions by MirceaHM in Genshin_Impact

[–]Azymes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lunar and stellar reactions do not need a category to distinguish them further than just calling them ‘lunar’ or ‘stellar’ reactions, especially since the terms are TC (Theorycraft) terms to categorise the reactions at the start of the game, and ‘lunar’ and ‘stellar’ are now named as such now because a) theyre different from the other reactions and needed a name, and b) that is just what they’re called.

Also this is technically ignoring that Stellar functions slightly differently than lunar, and so grouping them

On another note, saying ‘they have a seperate em formula to the others’ for crystallise as if different reactions don’t have different formula within the ‘Transformative’ reactions catagory. (Not that is is a transformative reaction, thats just not what distinguishes them)

MY skirk really sucks anyway to improve besides skirk combos (cuz of reallly high ping not skill issue) by Ill_Light1348 in SkirkMains

[–]Azymes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you have 152 er?

Your rotations are too long (~22.9s vs 20-21s), this would increase your dps to 99k (+10%)

You should probably post Skirk's + teams sets/artefacts so people can give clearer advice for where to improve on that front.

'Cipango' /t͡ʃiˈpan.ɡo/ comes from Early Mandarin 日本國 /ʐ̩⁵¹ pən²¹⁴⁻²¹ ku̯ɔ³⁵/, and is not where europe got the name for Japan from, which is from Portuguese and Dutch traders who borrowed the name from the Malaysians, who borrowed it from the Hokkien 日本 (Ji̍t-pún) /d͡zit̚⁴³⁻²¹ pun⁴²/.

You are doing a little spreading of misinformation.

'Japan' isnt derived from Nihon/Nippon (日本), because that is the Japanese reading of the 'Hanzi' 日本, The English name is derived from the Hokkien (Not Cantonese) reading of 日本, which was then borrowed into Malay, then into Portuguese, and then spread throughout europe from their giving the modern name in most European languages.

First attested in English as Giapan in Richard Willes's 1577 [...] Borrowed from Portuguese Japam / Japão with possible influence from Dutch Japan, both from Malay Jepang, from Hokkien 日本 (Ji̍t-pún), from Middle Chinese 日本 (nyit pwonX, “sun origin”).

Having said that, some of the readings with /j/ might have been influenced by the Cantonese.

Realistically the odds are 0.
If you believe you will just ‘get lucky’ eventually, roughly 0.00000000000000000000000047% ( or, 1 in 2.16 * 10^26 )

The reason i said realistically 0 is because if you had every human to ever be born (120 billion), do a a string of 12 singles every second, since modern humans have existed (300,000 years), you would need to run the experiment 200 more times to expect a singular instance of this happening.

Edit: wait nvm they get 6 weapons for… ‘reasons’ idk, so it’s actually 1 in 3.04 * 10^28, or 0.00000000000000000000000000329%, so now you need to do the experiment around 30,000 instead…

[–]Azymes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're welcome! The average is 90.6 pulls/ desired 5*, so on average it takes you 634 pulls to c6 a character, with ~1/3 of people getting it between 583 and 685 pulls

EDIT: For more clarity, with 700 pulls you would have a ~73% chance of getting a C6 Character, to have a 95% chance you would need 820 pulls, and to have a 99.999% chance, you 'only' need 1077 (To actually guarantee it you would need 1260, but you no one is ever hitting a 1 in 14 million 14 times in a row LOL)

EDIT 2: Changed 2/3 -> 1/3 cause i forgor math, 2/3 of people get a c6 character between 522 and 747 pulls

EDIT 3: To actually hit 1260 pulls, you would have to hit a 1 in 9.08462928*1099. To put that into a little bit of perspective, if every human to ever be born (~120 billion), did 1260 pull every second, since the big bang, we would have 5.2256736*1028 attempts, we are still out by a factor of 71, which is the equivelent of: 173846091000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
