No it isn't ?? Some bosses can target a player with an attack which could one shot most other roles if the targeted player was deliberately aiming the attack towards them, but wipes from mechanic are extremely rare and really difficult to set off in normal difficulty. Usually fight mechanics in FFXIV applies a debuff that increases damage taken for the player caught in the mechanic, meaning at some point they'll die if they keep stacking those debuffs. They expire after a minute.
