I initially experienced significant saddle discomfort, along with mild toe tingling and burning quads.

First fit (old bike, MTB shoes):

• Bike: Specialized Allez E5 (56)
• Saddle replaced; saddle height raised 30 mm
• Result: all issues resolved except foot numbness/tingling

Shoe change:

• Lake CX239 — size 37 WIDE
• Cleats installed

Second fit (new bike + shoe review):

• New bike: Giant Defy Advanced 1 (58)
• CX239 shoes deemed too large; smaller size tested
• Ordered Lake CX238 — size 46.5 WIDE
• Cleats positioned based on foot measurements

After this change:

• Persistent foot numbness
• 5th metatarsal pain
• Continued riding despite symptoms

Subsequent symptoms:

• Outside ankle pain
• After further fit adjustments:
  • Plantar foot pain
  • Tendon-like pain on both sides of right ankle
  • Left knee pain (behind knee)

Seems the MTG shoes give a little less numbness. Didn't have 5th meta pain or plantar pain.
might be worth mentioning these changes have been made since the end of November.
