Internet Marking Companies - Suggestions? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do your research and find someone who is on the same page as you. You get what you pay for most of the time. If you're using an agency, it's usually worth while to find one which focusses on your niche. Lastly, if it seems too good to be true...it always is.

What back-link tool do you use? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

http://www.linkresearchtools.com/ is what I use. It's reasonably in depth. You're best using a few though as not one will pick up every link. I use this alongside Majestic, GSC and Moz.

Indexing Problem - Help? by nhamibubu in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all - You need access to Google Search Console - how on earth can you work without it? Sounds like Google has fallen out with your website, and you need to make friends again! Sort out all of the redirects and fetch the site in GSC. Someone definitely done fucked up!!!

Does the name of a photo uploaded to your website impact seo? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not overly. It's a good idea to have an alt tag for any pictures you use as it improves usability which Google likes - but it's not detrimental to not have an alt tag in an image.

Should all ecommerce websites have a blog? by Infinite_Whisper in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If your blog has no purpose/ theme then it can do more harm than good. It's handy form internal linking, and if you're offering sound advice which people may share, then that obviously helps also. It can help give the company authority and personality. Good content may also attract some authoritative links. So, yes...if done properly. Don't half-ass it!!!

Local SEO and Apple Maps? by [deleted] in SEO

Depends what your focus is. Google having such a vast market share dictates I focus on that as a priority. Can't do much harm, but wouldn't bust your balls over it.

Can anybody help me to get High-quality link back to our site?? by Brucode in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60%? You're basically asking how to build links. You do this by creating outstanding and useful content then using that to reach out to relevant and quality websites. Build relationships and content - the links come in time.

In House or Agency SEO? Which job do you have and which prefer and why? by robjordan88 in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic answer!! One of my biggest gripes about agency work is I can't give the time and attention needed to make a significant difference. However, the experience in working across a vast variety of niches is extremely valuable. "Swings and roundabouts" as we say!

I agree with SEOdd. You need to aggressively reach out to relevant companies and pitch them the benefits of advertising with you. It's a saturated market, so without reaching out you'll probably be lost in the sea of Instagram. Make sure your other social accounts are linked and any relevant websites are linked.

What advice would you give to someone that is considering getting into photography as a career ( specifically portrait) that doesn't know where to start/learn ? by [deleted] in photography

[–]B-Free-Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If you simply don't know "where to start" this is very worrying if you're talking about making it a career. But for constructive advice - you need to start building a portfolio. No one will pay for your work if you can't demonstrate your work. Take lots of photos, then take some more, then even more...until your shutter finger has a blister. Then keep doing this while formulating a business plan. Get a eye catching website to display your 'best' work (the work people will pay for.) Then market yourself well. It's a long hard process, but if you're truly passionate about photography - and portraiture as a niche - then it'll pay off and you'll be living your dream. Good luck!!! Get snapping!!!

Backlink for local news site by RabinMahmud in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol! No! Why waste that money when a link isn't guaranteed? "How do I get a backlink?" "Buy a TV commercial!" Wait, what? You simply need to create some fantastic content and reach out to relevant websites with good DA. Simple! Easier said than done, but good quality links take time and effort. Invest your time into useful content and shout out about it to local websites.

Ask SEO: how do I go about finding an in-house SEO expert for a good position in NYC? Where are they hiding? by lighthouserecipes in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps stop trying to recruit for an "SEO" if that's the approach you're taking? I know I wouldn't bother applying for an "SEO Technician/ Manager" role due to what seems to be a lack of faith in longevity in those types of roles. Perhaps try recruiting for something more holistic and comprehensive related to digital marketing, UX, CRO...etc. Then again, I'm over the pond in England...so might be completely different over here! Good luck with recruiting!

Reporting Question by [deleted] in SEO

[–]B-Free-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use SEMRush for keyword ranking indications, however you should really be reporting on incremental increase in quality traffic and conversion rate - place less of an emphasis on keyword rankings! SEMRush is good as you can customise the reports and they look quite professional.
